Water in refridgerator

Have a look inside fridge compartment (especially the "roof", if it's a top-mount freezer) & see if you can see any ice build-up (look inside vents that allow cold air into fridge from freezer section. Also, if top-mount freezer, look inside the freezer compartment for ice build-up on "floor", inside vents, or on back wall. These symptoms, combined with water dripping from lots of the "roof" of fridge section (in a top-mount freezer model), can mean several different problems, so best to re-post with more info/symptoms included.
If there's no ice build-up (& the dividing area between fridge & freezer sections isn't particularly cold, which otherwise might indicate hidden ice build-up), it can be as simple as a plugged or obstructed drain tube, which is VERY COMMON. Easiest solution for this latter problem is to use a flexible plastic tube (think similar type as attached to aquarium air pumps), stuff it into drain hole, and blow on the other end. Sometimes you have to blow quite hard to clear an obstruction or complete blockage. If you can't clear the drain tube, it's likely a different problem. Again, a re-post with more info/symptoms will help narrow it down.

Check for ice build up in the freezer section. Sounds like a defrost problem .You will need to remove the panel in the freezer and look for ice build up, from there you could have 3 or 4 different parts that one or more has failed

The drain for the auto defrost water is plugged up somewhere. You will need to look at the very back and bottom inside the freezer to see if you can locate it and clean it out. Also you may have to pull the refrig out from the wall and try to get to it from the back.Hope this aleast gets you looking in the right direction.

Have a side by side fridge (think it's a Hotspot. The fridge part works fine (as long as the freezer is still running). But the Freezer part is no longer working. Was fine one morning and by that...

Look inside back of freezer and see if ice is forming or a layer of frost is building. If yes it is time to manually defrost and examine these parts=> PSS26MSRSS_Freezer_Section
After clicking on that link you will see photo's of your freezer section. In that photo part location's 230 and 240 are 230 Defrost Heater OEM Part Number=> WR51X10055 That part is most likely burned out. Once you defrost manually with a hair drier or a large bucket of hot water set inside the freezer compartment you may need to take care that water does not over fill the condensate
pan below refrigerator by mopping up the water with a dry towel.

Next part I always change is the=> WR50X10028 Defrost Thermostat

These parts are easy to see and change once the rear panel of your freezer is removed. In most cases you will see the defrost Heater blackened and burned out. Removal of the rear freezer panel is very easy and will save you a lot of money to do this yourself. Just remember to unplug power always while working around electricity and you will be fine. Should you have other questions I will be here to answer them for you, Thanks Sea Breeze

Our Kenmore frig is not cooling at all! The freezer is doing great however. What could be wrong with it and can we fix it ourselves to save money?

For one reason or another the cold air is not getting from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator side.
Possibilities Are There is ice build up in the vent. The vent is stuck closed or set at closed setting(freezer setting to cold) Defrost thermostat in freezer area not defrosting ice to allow air flow. This you can tell once you remove the back panel in the freezer you will see the inside full of ice.

Top Freezer works fine but there is no ice building up in freezer the bottom fridge not cooling properlyThings are not as cold as they should be

Remove the back panel from the freezer to verify no ice behind the freezer panel. Look inside the air vent on the freezer panel for ice buildup. Make sure the freezer control is set to minimum not coldest freezer.. Make sure the freezer fan motor is working.

I have a GSL25JFPH BS refrigerator by GE. It made the whirring sound, a repairman came out and told me that the fan motor needed replacing, price of $277. I sent him away, and after a few minutes on the internet, saw on this site that a new circuitboard (part# WR55X10656) should fix it. I found it on ebay for $83, and it took about fifteen minutes to install. No more whirring!!

Problem with ice dispenser in side by side refrigerator

Bensmom, the housing that holds the flapper pin probably cracked causing the flapper not to seal. Whirlpool use to have to replace the whole door at one time because the dispenser housing was a non serviceable part. That got too expensive so they came out with a kit to remedy the problem. The kit comes with instructions but you have to be patient and take your time. You want to determine first if this is the actual problem. You can do so by looking up into the dispenser and seeing if the pin retainer is cracked or broken off. I have done a bunch of these and the kit works great. I hate the job though. Part number for the kit is 8201756. I tried to attach a picture of the kit, but I guess the file was too back.
