If i turn it on the picture comes on and looks great for about 10 seconds then goes off. If i turn off and back on i get picture and goes out again. Power never goes out is still green. I just trying to find trouble shooting info on it and seems like a long chore. Any ideas let me know thanks.

I have a View Sonic VA720, and the power light stays green all the time, and the screen is black. When you try to turn the power button off you get a picture for about 5 seconds and then it goes black again. with the power light staying green.

It is likely that the backlight inverter is failing. This is a very common problem. The inverter is one of the two ciruit boards inside the monitor. If you can still see a very, very faint image on the monitor, then the backlights are not coming on. The inverter is easily replaced by removing the monitor's back cover, then removing the RF shield over the inverter board (on the left side of the monitor's back), and then finally removing the inverter. A replacement part will cost about $60 as of the time of this writing. The new board will plug right into the 3 cables and is mounted with two screws.

One of the backlight converters might be failing. Check the fuses on the converter, or ask a technician to do it for you. Good luck

Have just hooked up my Viewsonic VA720 moniter as the main moniter to a new laptop that I have. The laptop is an ACER Travelmate 6293 running windows XP. When I come to start up my computer each morning...

You most likely have a capacitor that has changed value. When a capacitor goes bad it will work after it heats up. Sometimes a bad cap will have a bulging top or show signs of leakage. Sometimes can only be checked with a meter.

ViewSonic VA720 Screen displays briefly then goes blank.

it looks like the Inverter's gone in your screen, it works like a starter in a florescent tube, it 'kick starts' your screen to come on. Turning it on/off many times eventually 'kick starts' your screen and makes it come on eventually.

Screen goes blank within 1 second of being turned on

Bad capcitor in the psu would cause this to squel and even pop so have it looked at you be glad you did.

I have a ViewSonic VE910b 19" That the display stays black

What your both experiencing is a slow degradation of the inside light bulbs. Just like what happens to regular fluorescent bulbs, they slowly flicker out.

Best to buy a new monitor.

Take apart your old one, you'll find burnt out bullbs on the upper and lower chassis deep inside.

Problem with 17" ViewSonic Monitor

The same problem w/ my viewsonic E70 17" monitor. The viewmeter or viewmatch color on screen do not appear when power ON, although the green led power is ON.

But if you rest your monitor for about 10 hrs or more the viewmeter will appear when you power ON the monitor.

You can now start your CPU.

Remember : No viewmeter screen on monitor when power ON, means no supply coming out the picture tube or high voltage.

But if there is Viewmeter on screen , this normal and OK>
