When we turned the power on it was powered up, but wouldn't start. We held the button to no avail. We unplugged and plugged it back in and now it win't even power up. There is power going because it beeps when you push the power button.
First Thing: Check all connections and clean contacts! I had a water line burst - got water all up inside on the wiring and control boards. Got an F70 error, then when I unplugged and plugged back in, control panel went black and got nothing but 3 quick beeps when I pushed the power button. After I figured out that water had gotten inside, I pulled the top off - three screws on back - got everything good and dry, but problem persisted. Unplugged and pulled each connector one-by-one, cleaning with a toothbrush and a fat rubber band. Everything works fine now. Humidity and other laundry room environmental issues can cause the same problem.
If cleaning the upper connections doesn't resolve the problem, pull the 3 screws on the bottom front and take that panel off. Clean and reseat all of the connections for the Motor Control Unit and on the motor.
Had cleaning and reseating not resolved my problem, my next step would have been to remove the control boards for a more thorough cleaning (scrubbing contacts with a pencil eraser) and inspection. If you're handy with a multi-meter, you can do continuity checks, but those tests will often lie to you by the probes getting better contacts than the plug connectors.
Hope that helps.

I unplugged the TV and held the buttons down and it continued to flash. I continued to hold down the two buttons and replugged it in again and it worked. TV back up and working.

Unplugged it. After looking for a new tv online I decided to try getting it to work. So, plugged it back in and held down the power button, a red light came on, held down the power button again and an orange light came on, held down power button again and green light came on and tv powered on. This was simply a case of trial and success!

unplug, hold power button, plug in. If that doesn't work, unplug all the HDMI cables, unplug the power, hold power button, plug back in.
I suspect from your description of the symptoms that the drain filter is possibly blocked or the drain motor is unable to function correctly.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motorfilter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play. It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
Unplug it for 10 minutes. Press and hold SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons WITH POWER OFF. With both buttons held turn the power on and press START/PAUSE till you hear the drain pump operating. If it is the brand new one it will be 12 times. Once all of the water is drained out turn the machine off, then back on and the door should unlock. If you keep getting an error, you should call for service. All new machines come with a 1 year parts and labor warranty
You can attempt to unplug the washer for AT LEAST 30 minutes in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the main computer for the washer. Sometimes resetting it is all that is required to correct momentary program glitches. If the problem reoccurs following a CCU reset, then you have a legitimate problem. Let me know if you still experience problems. I hope this helps you.
MY WASHER WAS DOING BASICALLY THE SAME THING. I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL FRONT LOADER MODEL #GHW9460PL0. MY HUBBY REMOVED THE 3 SCREWS FROM THE BACK OF THE WASHER, UNPLUG IT FIRST, AND TOOK THE TOP OFF. WE THEN CAREFULLY UNPLUG THE WIRES AND REPLUGGED THEM BACK IN 1 BY 1 SO U WONT GET THEM MIXED UP. WE THEN TRYED IT, AND THE CONTROL LOCKED LITE STAYED LIT. HE HELD THE SIGNAL CYCLE BUTTON IN FOR 3 SECONDS AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. WE THEN TRYED RUNNING A CYCLE AND SO FAR SO GOOD!! GOOD LUCK!

The washer has power but when you hold down the start button it never starts Comment by csak, posted on Apr 22, 2008The washer has power but will not start when start button is held down Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR WASHER before beginning any service procedure. Some of the things you should try is to check the power plug to see if the washer is plugged in properly, try holding down the switch or start button to see if it starts, if it does it may have a loose wire on the back side of the washer or it also might have a defective switch and needs replacement. Please check you r owners manual for the trouble shooting items to see if you can self – diagnose the problem or free to contact the manufacturer to see if they can assist you. Not knowing the manufacturer, try going to the website like – Example: www.Whirlpool.comor www.Maytag.comto see if they have any suggestions. Or call the factory authorized dealer who does repairs, and if it is less tan one year it would fall under the factory warranty and maybe it will be covered under the manufacturers warranty, you don’t want to service it yourself if it is covered under the manufacturers warranty, it might void the warranty. If that fails,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
