Remove pin pivot in transom mount

Do you just drive out the pin with a punch? I do not see any snap rings. The transom piece and clamps snapped off when I hit a log. Thanks, Kimo

I just finished installing my new Maxum Pro 80 lbs. motor. I want to deploy it to see if it works correctly. Do I just pull the cord, or do I have to take out any safety lock pin before deploying it? If so would you tell me where it is located.

Look for clips around the pin inside the housing perimiter. If you see rings cut in the pin that don't have clips in them, they probably fell off. If used in a marine environment, the pin probably is corroded and locked to the housing. Use usual methods, i.e. heat and lube and.....a hammer wrench.

These have spring pins in them. You will notice a hole on the shaft with something in it. Remove that with something like a center punch and a hammer. Doesn't take much. The other type of fasteners on this look like a letter C (snap ring). They will require a snap ring pliers to remove.

How to get the retaining ring off of the feeder assembly

The rn46 nailer has two retaining rings for the feeder. The snap ring on the very back of the feeder assembly is removed with snap ring pliers or two small pointed tools of your choice. The rear cap will come off with spring pressure so be ready to catch the pieces. You need to remove the nail canister to see the rear snap ring. The feeder pin holding the feeder onto the feeder shaft is just a rubber ring that can be removed by prying behind with flat blade screwdriver. Caution when you remove the feed-pin and move the feeder or you will lose the feed-sping under the feeder , Good luck

Agitator shaft replace

Yes

If you have not gotten this taken care of yet. Turn your mixer upside down and remove the silver drip ring and then take out the drive pin with a punch, the pin holds the planetary on and in place. now with 2 screwdrivers from position 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock gently but firmly pry up until the planetary breaks loose and comes of the center shaft, now you will need some snap ring plyers to remove the agitator shaft, once you look at it you will see how to take apart easy.

Run the clutch cable adjuster all the way down to give the cable maximum slack. Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring on the bottom of the clutch pivot pin. Push the pin up and out of the clutch perch. Pull the lever out of the clutch perch. Push the white plastic dowel out of the cable and lever, and you are done.

I don't know how to change the head light on my 1997 Jeep grand Cherokee. there doesn't seem to be any screws to loosen the light.

Hi Clint,

I just want you to know that you are not crazy or blind!

The reason you cannot find any screws is because you are dealing with a snap-together vehicle.
If you only want to replace the bulb, you can reach around the radiator support and twist the bulb retainer to remove it and the bulb. If you are wanting to replace the ENTIRE headlamp assembly, follow the instructions below.

REMOVAL

Grasp lower edge of headlamp lens and pull straight back (away) from Grille Opening Reinforcement (GOR) . Disengage lower adjuster pivots from lens assembly.
Grasp upper edge of headlamp lens. Pull straight back (away) from grille opening reinforcement (GOR). Disengage upper adjuster pivot from lens assembly.
Rotate bulb lock ring counter clockwise. and remove ring and bulb from lens.
INSTALLATION

Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure.
Align upper adjust pivot into headlamp opening and snap into place.
Snap lower adjuster pivots into place.

Broke off about an inch and a half of the cv joint were the snap ring fits the tranny and cv on a 2 4 LITER MITSU AUTO 99 Seibring

If the CV shaft broke off in the tranny and the lock ring is still in the tranny then your probably going to have to take your car to a tranny shop because with that snap ring still on it ,it will be hard to get that piece out without taking the tranny apart.

How do you change the wing mirror on a vauxhall combo van 2003 complete unit

Lucky You, I can’t wait to get back to Europe, home actually, anyways your vauxhall 2003 combo van. Take your door panel off, start with armrest, unscrew it, these screws are right under the area you would be resting your arm on, this area is seen by large holes, these can be deep so a long medium Philips should be used.

Nest is door handle to unlock door, you have plastic cover or metal, some have a small screw or slots to fix it securely. Unscrew or use a thin small screw driver to gently pull each slot from panel or lock mechanism. Now your window is most likely manual, so I will explain this first, two ways these are secured, the handle you use to roll window up and down, a screw right in the middle, just unscrew or a ring clip, this is between the door panel and handle and is removed by a special tool made to do this or a screw driver on one side of clip, a quick tap with your hand on top ot screw driver or by prying from the top of the inside of ring between gear and clip.

Your door panel uses snaps generally, but some have screws where snaps would be as well, around the outer edges of the door panel , if snaps are used gently use a wide instrument rather the your fingers, this can break fittings of panel, so use a wide flat instrument, a large screw driver or a mini crow bar used to pull nails.

If speakers are mounted, be careful not to rip speaker wires, just pull the wire fasteners from the side of magnet, remember their location so you reinstall them correctly.

Now with a flashlight look under and up to see your mount base for wing window, remove the fasters and pay attention to the top pivot for wing window, most of them are pins and easily removed by a slightly sideways downward slowly pulling down, careful not to bend pivot slot or pivot pin. Some have also been secured by a screw on the top of door frame where pivot is mounted. Which is an obvious dismantling procedure, remove fastener, usually a screw, another Philips of some sort star screw or an alien screw. That’s it now your wing window should be free and in your hands. The reverse to install a new wing window. Good luck

2006 dodge dakota water pump replacement instructions 3.7L

The water pump can be removed and installed without discharging the air conditioning system (if equipped).

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2. Drain cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling found under Cooling System, Service and Repair.
  3. Do not waste reusable coolant. If solution is clean, drain coolant into a clean container for reuse. WARNING: CONSTANT TENSION HOSE CLAMPS ARE USED ON MOST COOLING SYSTEM HOSES. WHEN REMOVING OR INSTALLING, USE ONLY TOOLS DESIGNED FOR SERVICING THIS TYPE OF CLAMP, SUCH AS SPECIAL CLAMP TOOL (NUMBER 6094). SNAP-ON CLAMP TOOL (NUMBER HPC-20) MAY BE USED FOR LARGER CLAMPS. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN SERVICING CONSTANT TENSION CLAMPS. CAUTION: A number or letter is stamped into the tongue of constant tension clamps. If replacement is necessary, use only an original equipment clamp with matching number or letter.
  4. Remove upper radiator hose clamp and hose at radiator.
  5. The thermal viscous fan drive is attached (threaded) to the water pump hub shaft. Remove fan/viscous fan drive assembly from water pump by turning mounting nut counterclockwise as viewed from front. Threads on viscous fan drive are RIGHT HAND. A Snap-On 36 MM Fan Wrench (number SP346 from Snap-On Cummins Diesel Tool Set number 2017DSP) can be used. Place a bar or screwdriver between water pump pulley bolts to prevent pulley from rotating. Do not attempt to remove fan/viscous fan drive assembly from vehicle at this time.
  6. 6. If water pump is being replaced, do not unbolt fan blade assembly from thermal viscous fan drive.
  7. Remove fan shroud attaching hardware (two bolts at bottom-two clips at top).
  8. Remove fan shroud and fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly from vehicle as a complete unit.
  9. After removing fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly, do not place thermal viscous fan drive in horizontal position. If stored horizontally, silicone fluid in viscous fan drive could drain into its bearing assembly and contaminate lubricant.
  10. Do not remove water pump pulley bolts at this time.
  11. Remove accessory drive belt as follows: The drive belt is equipped with a spring loaded automatic tensioner. Relax tension from belt by rotating tensioner clockwise (as viewed from front). When all belt tension has been relaxed, remove accessory drive belt.
  12. 12. Remove four water pump pulley-to-water pump hub bolts and remove pulley from vehicle.
  13. Remove lower radiator hose clamp and remove lower hose at water pump.
  14. Remove heater hose clamp and heater hose from heater hose coolant return tube.
  15. Loosen heater hose coolant return tube mounting bolt and remove tube from water pump. Discard the old tube O-ring.
  16. Remove seven water pump mounting bolts.
  17. Loosen clamp at water pump end of bypass hose. Slip bypass hose from water pump while removing pump from vehicle. Discard old gasket. CAUTION: Do not pry water pump at timing chain case/cover. The machined surfaces may be damaged resulting in leaks.

INSTALLATION

  1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.
  2. Using a new gasket, install water pump to engine as follows: Guide water pump nipple into bypass hose as pump is being installed. Install water pump bolts. Tighten water pump mounting bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) torque.
  3. Position bypass hose clamp to bypass hose.
  4. Spin water pump to be sure that pump impeller does not rub against timing chain case/cover.
  5. Install a new O-ring to the heater hose coolant return tube. Coat the new O-ring with antifreeze before installation.
  6. Install coolant return tube and its mounting bolt to engine. Be sure the slot in tube bracket is bottomed to mounting bolt. This will properly position return tube.
  7. Connect radiator lower hose to water pump.
  8. Connect heater hose and hose clamp to coolant return tube.
  9. Install water pump pulley. Tighten bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque. Place a bar or screwdriver between water pump pulley bolts to prevent pulley from rotating.
  10. Relax tension from belt tensioner. Install accessory drive belt.
  11. CAUTION: When installing the serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. If not, engine may overheat due to water pump rotating in wrong direction. Refer to Illustration above for correct belt routing. The correct belt with correct length must be used.
  12. Position fan shroud and fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly to vehicle as a complete unit.
  13. Install fan shroud.
  14. Install fan blade/viscous fan drive assembly to water pump shaft.
  15. Fill cooling system.
  16. Connect battery negative cable.
  17. Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks.

Need to remove the column cover on my 1996 GMC yukon so i can check the connections on or replace the hi beam-low beam/wiper/turn signal switch. I have intermitent low beam headlights and I have replaced...

The steerin wheel screws have come loose inside the steering colum, if you can move the steering wheel up and down and back and forth you will have to remove the air bag the horn and horn button and tighten the two screws that are tork heads #8 to fix this issue.
Comments: Aug 20, 2009- If you want to fix this yourself you can do this it takes two to three hours with out the right tools, If you rent the tools to remove the steering wheel and the u clamp to remove the snap ring it will cost you almost nothing and would take an hour. You can rent it from schucks or autozone, you need steering wheel puller and screw on u clamp to remove plastic cover to ge tto the screws, I am also assumeing it is a tilt wheel. Disconnect the battery pull two bolt air bag retainer covers remove two bolts holding air bag on, next disconnect the air bag, Next remove 3 philips screws holding the horn assembly plastic and metal ring, Put tothe side in order how the screws and two parts go, if there are wires for a cruise control disconnect them. Next Remove 3/4 inch center steering nut, install U bolt on the bolt thread that you removed the nut off of screw down till the plastic cap is 1/4 inch down allowing you to getto the center snap ring, using too picks work snap ring out of the grouve then remove the u clamp. once you pull the clap off the plastic plate whell come off and the plate is keyed to go on one way. after you remove plastic cover you will see three screws tork head type #8 or #6 buy a tube ot thread lock #605 remove the screws and put a drop on each screw then screw down. once screws are tight make sure the steering ball is not broke it is a plastic ball with a notch on one end with a spring on the other. Connect the battery up, install key and turn the key on put foot on brake then shif the shifter selecter back and forth if it operates somothly your done, if it gives you trouble still then check the pin in the pivot point on the shift lever, if it looks broke hammer it out and take to the parts store get new roll pin and hammer new one pack in with a center hole punch. then reinstall the parts. If you run into trouble you can post here and I can help you more.
Thanks for using fixya and have a good day!
