Problem regarding installing network controller

Hello All,

I have a laptop Asus f5sl. Recently I changed my windows from Vista to XP SP3. However, I can not install the network controller. I downloaded the driver for Atheros and trid to install it on my laptop. But it doesn't work.

To find the reason, I guessed that maybe LAN is not enabled in on-board devices. But, I refered to BIOS and there is no LAN in on-board devices.

Can you help with that?

Regards,

Windows will not see them because you need to download the SATA drivers for the motherboard from the Asus site.

Download and install to a floppy or USB (advise the latter)
Install windows, and you will get a "press f6 if you want to install a raid device ..."
Press F6 and hopefully, windows will find the drivers, highlight the ones it wants.. the rest should be simple

After installing graphic driver for windows XP, the display setting becomes lowest(4 bit) and it cannot be changed.

This occurs when the incorrect video driver is installed or the standard VGA driver is installed.
You can confirm the type of video driver installed by click on Control Panel - Display - Settings tab - Advanced check the Adapter type.
If you have not the correct video driver then -

Usb ports not working

All the USB ports were working before he installed SP3 and rebooted. After that only the mouse/keyboard ports worked. Same thing happened to me. No other changes were made, so something added/change by SP3 is the culprit.

Questions is...what did SP3 do to break USB and how to fix it?

P5PE-VM asus board audio driver

Hello there.

Please click here to download the drivers for your audio chipset. You may note that Vista is not listed but the driver version for Windows XP works in Vista, there was a problem with the installer cd on Vista but apparently manually running the installer for the audio card, from the cd works fine. Click here to see what other users of the same motherboard said.

Hope this helps.
