Hello my dell inspiron 6400monitor went black after beeing under rain. so I dryed it. and everything works. even to connect it with an other monitor - it works. but my display on the laptop is veeery dark. With lamp or sun you can see something but its veery dark. Any idea how to fix or what to change? Thank you.

If your video output works fine when connected to an external monitor, then the issue is with the LCD display panel. I’m afraid the only way to fix this is to have the LCD panel replaced. Your responses are intended to improve the level of service provided. Please rate your experience. Thank You.

Try connecting an external monitor to the 15 VGA (video) plug on the laptop and see if it displays properly on the monitor. You may have to direct the video from the laptop to the monitor by holding down the blue <FN> (key next to the space bar) and then press down the <F8> key. If the display on the external monitor is correct, then you either have a problem with the laptop's LED display screen or cable that connects the LED to system board. Open the laptop and remove everything you can and dry it with an air blower not in the sun.When you are sure it's all dried up,place the part one by one and check. Usually, Motherboard are water resistant but for hard disk it might not work.
