It's amazing how a given day concentrates the exact same questions... one ady all the cellphones drop in a cup of coffee, and another everybody is pushed into a pool with their camera, and now everyones camera LCD is gone.
Either the connection to your LCD was cut off, or the backlight went.
Both shouldn't be expensive repairs, but with digital cameras I wouldn't be surprised if you get qouted with the usual 150 $ flat rate. The LCD is auxiliary i think, it's not like the lens mechanism or CCD died, and probably the screen doesn't need replacing, just the backlight.
Get an estimate, if you're asking, then probably you won't be able to do it yourself(unless you find a step by step guide, and a good parts source).

- Point a flash light into the LCD to find out if there's still a picture in there and it's really the backlight
