Not download xp

Step 1:
SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

I can' t install Windows Xp on my Asus M50V ( intel centrino 2 T9400).

You need to make sure you have a Windows XP install with Service Pack 3 with it. You can not install the earlier versions of XP on your platform. If you have your own XP disk and another computer with a CD burner you can do what is called "Slipstream" your XP disk to include Service Pack 3 on it. Then you can install XP+SP3 from one CD onto your laptop.

First you need a copy of windows XP. This I can not help with, beg/borrow/ste..... I mean ask a friend for his purchased and fully unused license for installation.

Next, you need the official SP3 file is available for download on Microsoft's servers. Here's the direct link to the English version.

Next, download nLite (and .NET 2.0 or higher from the windows update site.)

Then, follow these instructions to slipstream the CD and install away!

I would post a complete step-by-step here, but the work is already done by LifeHacker and it is done nicely with little pictures and tid-bits to help you along... So why re-invent the wheel :)

Let me know if you need anything else,

Brian

Purchased 160gb hard drive. After installation, I installed the Acer System CD Rev 1.0 and recovery CDs that came with the laptop. see op system and specs below, but after the core load, I updated to SP3....

It very well may be a BIOS limitation. How old is the PC/Motherboard, and what model? Also, Windows has a 137GB limitation without at least SP1, if I remember correctly.

My audio device is not working. so i want to sound driver for it.

Hello,
You can download all the drivers you need for Lenovo 3000 Y410 Laptop from the below link
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-68104.html#audio

Just scroll down the page for Audio drivers for both win XP and Vista, click on the blue version number to download the one you want.

Note : Incase you have win XP,some people has issues installing the xp driver with sp3 installed, the driver seems to work with only sp1 and sp2.So if u have SP3 and unable to install xp driver, do one of the following.
1) Uninstall SP3 and install SP2 and then try installing the driver for XP
2) Download Vista driver and install it with windows compatibility mode set to XP SP2.

Problem : When Windows XP was made there was no concept of SATA drives now ur drive is SATA and ur installation disc does not contain drivers for ur Hard disk thats why it is unable to find ur hard disk as it doesnt recognize it u need sata raid drivers on ur windows inst cd

Solution:

this specific model HP 6735 was shipped with vista OS and drivers now u are downgrading it to XP it depends on the installation disc if it is new one like SP3 included then u would have never faced this issue in ur case u should get a RAID driver from www.intel.com and then include them in ur copy of windows XP cd to load them at the startup of installation , so u need them in the first place to carry out installation, u have to do some job here download RAID DRIVERS from www.intel.com select ur board and chipset either it is 945 or 965 gm and then download nlite a software used to integrate these drivers to ur inst disk , u can also include SP3 thru this software in ur current win xp cd

http://www.nliteos.com/

just download sata drivers from intel and nlite from the link and install the software integrate these drivers and burn ur cd incl them and then install normally as u were installing them earlier now it will recognize ur drive simple for more info how to do check this out

DVD drive can not write disks after Win XP SP3 upgrade

It has nothing to do with the upper and lower filters. I have tried those multiple times. I had done almost everything that is in this forum and the drive still did not work. It is definitely XP SP3 that is causing the problem. I pulled the drive out and put it in another machine with a clean installation of XP SP1 installed. I then installed Roxio. The drive worked great. I then installed SP3 and the drive quit working again. I then uninstalled SP3 and the drive started working again. That seems to be a pretty good indication it is SP3. Two different machines that quit working when SP3 is installed? Doesn't that indicate it is SP3? I am not the only person having this issue either. Just search with Google and you will find other complaints with no solutions yet. The only common thing is XP SP3.
