Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KD-32FS130 32" TV
My Sony TV is about 4 years old and while the sister-in-law- was watching a movie the screen halved. The whole picture can be seen but only on the bottom half of the screen, the top half is just black. There isn't a vertical hold adjustment knob that I can find so I need a bit of help here. Thanks.
The picture on your TV screen is driven from the center to the top and bottom of the screen by the vertical drive circuit. The fact that you can see the entire picture means you have a problem called foldover. This is caused by a failure in the vertical drive circuit where the vertical saw signal is altered by a component failure within the vertical drive circuit. You cannot solve this problem but any good repair shop should be able to correct the problem at a reasonable cost.
