Question about Televison & Video
It is a Pioneer learning remote and the only model number i can see is CU-VSX098. The receiver is SX2300. I'm not sure when they were made, maybe the early 90's?
Usually universal remotes are programmed by holding down the device button (i.e. if you would like to teach the remote how to control a TV, press and hold the TV button). If the device key lights up when pressed, it should stay on or blink when in programming mode.
After that, input the code that corresponds to your device:
The remote will either accept this code directly, or you'll need to confirm it. Try pressing the device key again.
