Question about GE GSH25JSTSS Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

GE Stainless Steel side by side freezer noise

I have an issue where there is a noise coming from the freezer side of my fridge. Instead of the constant hummmmm a fridge may give you. The noise coming from the freezer side seems to sound as if the freezer is struggling. Instead of the constant huuuummmmm, it sometimes sounds like it is sputtering. Any suggestions?

Sputering and gurgling is a common complaint with lots of models. it is the surculation of the refrigerant thew the evapurator tubing behind the rear wall. make shure the units condensor underneathe the fridge is clean and clear of dust. it can cause the head preasure from the compressor to increase witch can cause excesive sound in circulation. hope this helps you

You probably have a sensor issues there are two one for the freezer one for the frig. Check your freezer temp it should be at 0 degress at manufactor setting. If the temp is below -10 you freezer sensor is bad. Otherwise your frig sensor is bad. CHECK FREEZER FIRST!!!

A frosty freezer in the back panel is an indication of a defrost failure issue. Problem may lie in the the control board, heater or defrost terminator. The problem usually is a broken defrost element. Hope that helps :)
