My Pride Mobility Celebrity X Scooter appears to be dead.

I have a fairly new scooter. I got it new about a year and a half ago but I have not used it much more than once or twice a week as an average. I am very good about charging it. I used it this last week with no problems. The charge indicator showed full scale when I pulled it into its normal parking spot. I decided to move it a bit and put the key back it in to turn it to the on position. No charge was showing, not even the led to show the code of what was wrong. No lights work. I pulled the seat and the cover over the motor and trans-axle. All connections were tight. The battery voltages were correct. I checked all the fuses and made sure the voltage from the batteries was making the trip to the fuses. The scooter just suddenly stopped dead in its tracks. I checked the freewheel lever and I plugged and unplugged the connectors just to make sure everything was making good contact. Just before driving it into the house into its parking spot I noticed it still had a full indication on the meter and had plenty of zip. It is though the key switch is not turning the scooter on.
What should be my next step in checking the problem? The scooter has had very light use and has never been left outside or driven in the rain. It is kept in a nice clean environment. I don't have a schematic diagram for the scooter or else I might be able to troubleshoot much more as I have a lot of electronics experience. I hate to start taking things apart unless I know what I am working with. I feel it has got to be something simple that I have overlooked.
Please help because I just can't afford to take it to the shop right now.

I don't know if it has a safety switch or not. There seems to be a reset switch at the center below the seat with a rubber cover. It does not look like it has tripped. I have tried pushing the switch but it seems to be in the recessed position. I checked again last night and it looks like there is no voltage reaching the fuse box located on the tiller. I took all the plastic covers off to expose the wiring and the connectors all seem to be seated properly. But, there is no voltage measured there at the fuse box. The scooter is too heavy for me to raise it much but it looks like all the wiring runs inside a nice metal housing. I wish I could get a schematic so I could troubleshoot myself. Does Pride offer schematics to owners? I am a electronics tech myself so reading schematics is very easy normally. My specialty is radio electronics.

Can you describe this tip over switch and where it would be located?

Many people have problems with their Pride scooters.
Pride refuses to issue any information or schematics, telling the customer to visit their dealer for chargable service.

Guess what !! The dealers don't have the info or schematics or service manuals either !!!

There are known faults and flaws in the Pride designs.

Look under the 'hood' for the controller - big box with heavy wires connected to the motor. Write down the manufacturer and model number from the data plate.

Go to the manufacturer's web site and get your manuals and info there. Curtis 1228 is a common model.

Also, pay attention to the temperature limits, and EMF / RFI sensitivity -- big problem !!

Finally, if your dealer service rep suggested offsetting the throttle handle slightly for more speed, he may have created another problem -- all controllers have a PROGRAMMED deadband, shifting the centering of the throttle lever throws the whole system out of balance - integral part of original setup.

Bottom line - find a reliable independent instrumentation and controls service person who is familiar with programmed electronic motor controllers.

Good Luck

Pull the black mat that covers the footboard, underneath you should see another black panel with four screws, loosen them and remove the panel. You should see a small fuse panel with two fuses along with the controller unit, check the connections on the controller then pull the fuses chances are the 10 amp fuse is blown. Trust me, I work for a mobility company and I service these scooters constantly.

Is there a safety switch under the seat to disable the scooter in case it tips over? If so, this switch could be out of place. Or perhaps another safety switch.
