Question about Panasonic NV-GS17 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Panasonic NV-GS40 Although the camcorder seems to record - it only records audio. There is no picture - the viewfinder is blank and so is the LCD screen except for the on screen display. The camcorder plays previously recorded tapes OK. The iris seems to move when you zoom in or out. I have tries to reset the camcorder but problem still exists. There is nothing covering the lens! Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. If this requires repair from a professional, can any one recommend someone in the West YorksHire area and the possible fault and the likely cost.

Panasonic NVGS4 camcorder problem

Did you try with different tapes? light turr sound is always there in Rew/FF as the tape rotatets very fast. If the head motor stops while spinning, the error will be detected and the unit needs resetting. also if the head is sticky, tape gets stuck on head and unit will stop. Try to clean the head with head cleaner and check.

if the index go --:--:-- or 00:00:00 when you press play to view recorded material then you have a SERIOUS problem. That means heavy repair and cost. Buy something new.
