1st of all, check your PC is it has 2 HD or not, if there are 2 HD then make sure 1 is set to Master and another 1 is Slave or Cable Select. If there is only 1 HD, then have to set it to Master.
After this, enter the BIOS to see whether the PC can locate the installed HD or not.
If it is not, then make sure the HD is connected single with IDE cable (do not share with CD-ROM or the other HD, if it is share the unplug the other 1).
If the problem still then may be u can check the HD either is still functional, find a IDE to USB converter in computer shop and connect your HD to your PC and see either the HD can be detected or not as an external HD. If no, then the worst case show your HD is spoil already.

When plug in to the usb port does not register on the computer

I standard platter based hard drive should never make a clicking noise. It indicates the head is damaged and can no longer read or write. Think of it as an old fashion record player. Best case scenario it's about to fail.

Sorry for the bad news.

OKI (70050501) 20 GB Hard Drive

To back up the data from this hard drive, connect this hard drive to an USB hard drive adapter, then plug this USB adapter with the hard drive into the USB port of a working computer. The computer will see this hard drive as an external mass storgae device. You can then open the folders and files on this hard drive and copy your data to this computer or to an USB memory stick.

I need the driver for XP for my archos mini HD

External hard drives are normally Plug and Play. If you're being prompted for a driver, you might need to install the chipset driver for your motherboard.

Not registering on my computer

You might try a different cable, but make sure it is under 18" for bus-powered devices. You might also check the drive on another computer.

My Transcend StoreJet 320 GB USB 20 Hard Drive is having a problem When i connected the drive to my laptop it got detected for sometime and then disconnected automatically

Probably not the right answer for your problem. Mine is an external 1 TB Simple Drive. Mine wouldn't respond at all. I unplugged the power cable from the back of the hard drive and replugged it in and instantly it worked (with the computer and hard drive plugged in). I had tried rebooting the computer, plugging/unplugging over and over into the computer and that didn't work.
