Pen keeps highlighting

my pen has been working perfectly,until today.when i move around the mouse it keeps highlighting things and it wont let me click on anything either

- so did anyone sort this problem out? I have the exact same problem with my pen, i didn't use it for about 4 months and then brought it out today and the pen highlights everything on the screen but refuses to click on anything...it's really irritating.
