Is the wirless connection switched on on your laptop? And if it is you need to go to network and connections and choose which network you want to log onto. Once you have entered the relelvant password for the network it should work.

Go to your router and turn it off for 15 seconds. Then get a toothpick and push in the reset button in when you plug it back in. Do not do this until the router is working again and fully lit. Then push the reset button.
Now go to where it says connections you should have your access name click connect and put in the password you know will connect you. If this will not connect then it is a software issue and not the hardware you will have to delete and start over reconfiguring a new wireless connection. It is not the product it is the configuration that is the issue.
Something between you Internet Provider and the password may need to be reset then you will have to go to this link. 192.168.1.1 this will take you to the router page. Look for wireless connection then remove the password and create a new one. Save on page and go. Now go and re-log in again using the new password. Try this out see what happens.

Why won't registration recognize our email address and password? Do we use the password that came with the router?

Registration of what?
Your router password has nothing to do with anything other than either logging on to your router or connecting your router to a computer via wifi.
Some registration forms will not accept webmail,
Some more info needed

No internet connectn for desktop but wireless works with laptop.

If your running xp, make sure the netowrk card is not disabled, make sure you rnot using a cross over cable. use the cable you got with the routers. Try reinstalling the network card, goto dell support andenter you model to get the drivers.

1 thing to check. goto start ,control panel.
double click on netowrk conections.
right click on the main conection witch is the card in your pc, goto properties. andin the list internet protocol (tcp/ip) click this. and pres properties.

make sure in here obtain ip addres is automatically. and obtain dns is auto too.

Try this let me know how you get on.

Need help with sharing an internet connection... Please Read

only way I can think of doing that is if you used a cross over cat 5e network cable between the desktop and laptop and assigned static ip addresses to them so your desktop would have 192.168.1.2 and your laptop would have 192.168.1.3 both with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and on the desktop put the default gateway as the laptops ip address.

Not sure if you would have to use internet connection sharing on the desktop to get it to work as ive never done it that way.

Would be a lot easier to just connect the desktop via a network cable directly to your router ( assuming you have a router ) if not buy a router and use that instead.

L300 wireless problem

Ive had a similar problem and it was due to windows and the software for the router both trying to run the network and was causing problems.Perhaps check and see if there are two programs running.

Other than that perhaps you could return that router if you can and stick with linksys or netgear.

Question :
Does it cut out the same no matter how close you sit to the router ?

Alot of times when you have a computer that was just reloaded and hooked back up to the router and it doesnt work, most times the router and cable modem just needs to be reset. Turn off the computer.  Then on the router itself, on the back of the router is a little pinhole. Take a paperclip or a pin and stick it in the hole and press the button inside the hole. After doing so the router lights will start flashing and eventually go back to normal. Do the same for your Cable Modem .Then turn your computer on and then go into network connections to see if your computer is back on the network.                                                                  Hope this helps                                                                    Joe < Data Miner >
P.S. Added note:  You might want to double check in your network properties That your NWLink/Netbios and  Tcp/Ip  is installed.  Inorder to get there, click on network places,  view network connections,  and then right click on Local Area Connection. Left click on Properties and then see if NetBios is in there....

there is a problem with the security feature of your wireless router (SSID - Service Set Identifier). the most effective solution for this is reseting the router but pressing the small hidden button at the bottom part of the w-router itself. it will automatically reset your router.

the reason why you always connect to a different router is because your router rejects your attempt to connect to it and you computer automatically searched for another router in the area and connect itself to it.

Cause of the issue:

* you forgot the password or (SSID - Service Set Identifier)
* someone put a password on your router without you knowing it
* you accidentally inputted a password or (SSID - Service Set Identifier)

Hope this one works! Because i am sure with it!

Your good rating will be much appreciated, thanks!

Shut each network device down, then pull the power from the Modem and Router, wait a minute and power up the Modem, then wait another minute and start the Router, then you can fire all computers and Xbox. Keep in mind what your Bandwidth is and how much each device is using when you encounter problems and consider disconnecting unneeded devices when one device requires more. I know the last part should have nothing to do with your losing signal question. And you'll have to consider the distance each wireless device is from the "N" router also.
Did you have another router running without these problems before installing the Belkin N router?
