The float goes into the bottom of the reservoir. If you look in, you'll see a little slot on the side down at the bottom. The float goes in so that the little tang at the bottom and pointed out.

You should have a metal clip that probably popped off. The clip clips onto the edge of the plastic in the reservoir that forms the slot for the float. The clip simply has to be pressed onto the plastic edge. The best way to do that is to get a stick and cut a notch in it. You might want to use some double stick tape so that you can put the clip onto the stick and then lower it into the reservoir and press it onto the edge of the plastic.

Brand new Mr coffee PSTX series coffee maker leaks water from the base while fluid level in reservoir drops even before the brew cycle is turned on. I have double checked the seating of the reservior but...

If you look where the reservior fits into the base, specifically where the water goes in, there is a rubber seal. It's held in by a circulary plastic piece and 3 screws. I took it apart there to see if something was amiss and decided after looking at it some that they had put the seal in upside down. So I put it back together with the lip of the seal facing up instead of down and I have not had a single drop of water leak from the reservior again. Now if I can get the thermos pot that came with it to stop leaking every time I pour a cup I will be a happy camper.

I fill the resavior w/ water for a 12 cup Mr. Coffee and 2 1/2 cups evaporate while going through the motion and delivering less and less each time. I ran vinigar & water through 3 X's to no avail.

Are u sure that the water is still not in the reservior? After the partial brew, CAREFULLY check / empty the reservior for the missing water. If it's still there, then u probably have a clogged perculator hole at the bottom of the reservior.

I just figured out how to correct a slow / partial brew problem for a 4 cup Mr. Coffee that left the water in the reservior...I have been using paper towels and napkins to dry the reservior and cover after use, and apparently bits 'n pieces of paper clogged the tiny little hole at the bottom of the reservior that the hot water perculates through

Multiple vinegar/CLK flushes may eventually desolve this paper clot, but I used my vacuum cleaner with slat attachment to **** the paper clot out.

Coffee pot just would not brew this morning, though it worked fine yesterday morning. I emptied it and started over 3 times. The lights come on but that is all that comes on.

Check the water level. Check to make sure that the coffee filter under basket is clean and not plugged. YOu can remove your filter, then take out the basket and clean it....when did you purchase the machine?
