No picture....just blank screen.

This problems the two long circuit boards called the inverter board is dead.These two long inverter boards give ur tv a screen light called a backlight that where ur tv getting it light for the tv images.Take ur tv a parts and replaced these two long inverter boards.U will get ur tv picture back.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those two long refurbish inverter boards for the replacement.

This does not seem to be a power supply issue but rather an issue with the backlight inverter board. When the screen goes black, take a flash light and focus it on the screen from a close distance and several angles. See if you notice a very faint image. Try changing the channels to make it more noticeable. Try it and let me know

This is a backlight issue. LCD televisions require a light to be on permanently behind the visible LCD. This is usually provided by tubes called CCFL or cold cathode flourescent lamp. There will be multiple lamps arranged around the edges of the screen. It sounds most likely to be a due to one or more bad capacitors, which can be easily replaced by anyone experienced with electronics.

It could be a faulty inverter transformer but this usually causes the backlight to switch off within seconds of switching on due to protection circuitry in the inverter controller circuit. If the inverter circuit is faulty then the inverter board can be replaced.

If you are not competent with electronics then take your TV to be repaired by a qualified Tv repair engineer.

I would suggest to check the 24 volts from the power supply to the backlight inverter board. If the voltgage is missing or lower then 20 volts, the power supply is defective. If the voltage is correct, you might have a defective light inside the TV behind the screen since you've replaced the backlight inverter board; you now the failure is not there. The lights are connected to the backlight inverter board.

The fault could be a faulty CCFL lamp or inverter.
To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
