Margins How to change printer default margins

It's not the page margins on the document, it's the printer margins. The printer will not print past about 20mm from bottom of page - regardless of what the page margins are set to.

You can only change the margins on the paper by using your windows program when you first start to write your paper. I believe it would fall under either edit of tools. It's been a while for me but that may help

Did you remember to change the paper type in the printer settings to legal, before printing? If not it will use the default, usually letter size.

How do I change margin setrtings foe Lexmark P4350

If you are preparing to print a document that you have created in Microsoft Word, you may be concerned that all the text on the page will print exactly as you see it on your screen. This is not always the case. You can adjust your print margins to ensure that your text prints on each page exactly the way you would like it to appear.

Opening Your Document
Open your Microsoft Word document by double-clicking the Word icon on your desktop. If you do not see the icon on your desktop, then you can locate it where it is buried on your "Start" menu. Click "Start," followed by "All Programs." Then click "Microsoft Office," followed by "Microsoft Office Word." A new document will open on your screen. Click the "Office Button," followed by "Open." Scroll through the files listed, and double-click the one you would like to print. It will open on your screen.

Check Your Margins
By default, your page margins are set to 1-inch margins on the top, bottom, right and left of your page. You can check your margins or change them by clicking "Page Layout," followed by the "Margins" button.

Select New Margins
Select a different margin size, such as "Narrow," which indicate 1/2-inch margins, or "Wide," which indicate one-inch margins on the top and bottom and two-inch margins on the left and right. You also can select "Moderate," which indicate one-inch margins on the top and bottom and 3/4-inch margins on the left and right. Finally, you can select "Mirrored," which indicates one-inch margins for the top, bottom and outside. The inside margins are set at 1 1/4 inches.

Print Your Page
Print your page. Press "Control" plus the "P" button. The printer dialog menu will come up. Make sure that "All Pages in Range" is selected. Press "OK." If your printer cannot print your new margins, then a new menu will pop up telling you to adjust your margins.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

When I print a label, there is a blank white space before and after the printed text. How do I reduce the amount of tape printed before and after the text so as to maximize the label tape available?

you can, change the margins to narrow. you'll decrease the right margin but not the left margin which accdg to my research, is the space needed for the ptouch to print.

I am not able to print the portion from exactly start of the page of ms word document, why? Not able to show it in print preview??

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
The portion within the Margins can only be printed, lessen the top margin at bit.
I remember the top margin for default is 1', change it to 0.5' or 0.6'

In Office < 2007 (Margins are in File > Page Setup)
In Office 2007 (Margins are in Page Layout > Margins > Set it to Narrow)

Note: If you printer is non-Laser (I mean if it is Ink-Jet) Do not make the margins too less, the printer won't be able to print it.

Paper is out of range Samsung printer when printing in word it always says paper out of range

Check your default margins on the printer. Open Word, open a document, click on File then Print. When the printer's printing window opens, click on properties. You should now be able to see the Margins or a Margins tab in the window. Check you margin settings. If they are below .5" in any of the 4 margin settings then you printer probably cannot print the document. Change the settings and save them as the default settings.

You may also try updating your printer driver, too, depending on how old your printer is.

You should also check the settings for the paper type you are using. If it is not the normal 8.5" X 11", then you will need to change this setting as well.

Hope this answers your problem.
