My son has both a Wii and an iPod, I've gone into the router and added both MAC addresses, the iPod finds the network but can't connect. The Wii can't find the network at all. Is this a Belkin problem or some setting on the Wii and the iPod I've managed to miss?

That error code is usually linked to your Wii's MAC address not being added to the MAC accepted list on your router.
To do this it depends on what router you have, but for most, you can have a direct link from your computer to your router.
Open a internet browser and go to (192.168.0.1)
On most routers this will be its set up page, you have to go to the wireless page and add your Wii's MAC # in there.
Your Wii's MAC address is located in the 'Console information' Wii page
You should just do this after your done....
1) Power on your Wii, go to the settings menu (by clicking the little Wii button in the channel menu)
2) Scroll over to 'internet settings'
3) Select 'connections', and pick 1, 2, or 3
4) In there select 'search for wireless access point'
5) Pick your router, enter your key (password) for your router if you have one.
6) Test the connection

make sure your wii can see your netgear if it is mac address blocked use must unblock your mac address and then let let the wii to connect then save the mac in the ok list nad turn the filter on again also if its encrypted you need the password. and make sure you are broadcasting your ssid. does your wii see yours or any network at all?
There are wireless networking capabilities of the gateway that will prevent or allow specific MAC Addresses from connecting to the network. Go into the wireless settings and adjust the settings to accept the MAC address from your work computer. To find the MAC address from your computers network adapter go into a command prompt by typing cmd in the run box and typing "IPconfig /all" in the window. The MAC address is there it may be called Physical Address. It is always a 16 set of number and letter combinations divided by ":" between every 2 sets of number / letters. On your home desktop this same window will help you diagnose the problem. Your son's computer will help you with this, do this on his as well and compare the IP address with your home computer the address could be something like "192.168.1.?" the last number is going to be unique if the first three numbers match. If the IP address on your home computer doesn't match the first three octets "192.168.1" it will not get out through the gateway. If they don't match you can force it to be on the same network by setting up a static IP address by opening up the Control Panel / Networking icon and finding the icon for the network adapter that you are using and opening it up and clicking on "Properties" and clicking on IPv4 and clicking properties and clicking on Specify IP address and typing the first three octets of your son's computer and adding a fourth number that isn't "0" or "255". You can use any number between those two numbers except those numbers, and isn't the same as your son's IP Address or the Default Gateway which is the Linksys. The "Subnet Mask" will auto install but will be "255.255.255.0". The default gateway and DNS server will be the IP address of the Linksys which most likely will be "192.168.1.1". Click "Ok" on all the open dialog boxes and the computer should be able to get on the internet.
In MAC Address binding, you should put the actual MAC Address of the iPod not the IP Address, they are different. Normally the MAC Address of the device can be seen on the sticker at the back of the device. Another way to identify the MAC address is go to Menu/Settings of the device and look for Device/System Information. MAC Adress usually have 12 hexadecimal characters (6 pairs). Now locate the MAC address of your device and enter that in the MAC Address Binding settings. That should work.
If your with cable ISP you need to mac clone the mac address of the pc to the router.
1.make sure that everything is connected properly (modem to internet port of the router and pc to regular port)
2.access the router, http://192.168.1.1 (username: admin / password: password)
3.under basic settings page, scroll down to the bottom and look for router mac address and select Use Computer MAC Address and then hit apply
4.click the router status on the left pane and check if there's an IP under internet port, if yes it should be working and if not you need to power cycle the network
5. to power cycle, turn off the router and modem for 3 minutes and then turn on the modem first and then the router
5.it should work now
If you are looking for a way to send spam from a different IP address you may be out of luck. All computers on your home network broadcast out from the same public IP. There are ways to change your public IP with certain internet providers. Your public IP comes from your internet providers system. It checks for the MAC address of the device connected to the modem to assign an IP address. If you go through the router settings you can find where the MAC address settings are and choose which MAC it will broadcast, it's own internal MAC or a MAC from 1 of the connected devices.
According to information provided by the manufacturer, you may be receiving this error message if you have what is referred to as a "Pre-N" router that is defaulting to the "N" type network settings. Since this type of network will not function with the Wii, you may need to check your router's settings to see if your network type can be changed to "Auto" or Mixed." This setting may normally be found on the router's "Wireless" settings page, but can vary from router to router.
You may also be encountering a problem where either the Wii does not have the necessary Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) key or the Wii has not been added to the router's Media Access Control (MAC) filters yet. After fighting with this for the last couple of hours I have my ipod touch working with the netgear DG834G(v3) router. The fix is a bit odd and I am not entirely sure why it works but I thought I would share and hopefully it might help you out …
First I think that the WEP encryption simply does not work between these two devices and causes some very strange behaviour – the WEP 'authentication type' setting I had on the 'wireless settings' page was set to 'shared key' – I flicked this to 'automatic' & strength to ‘128 bit’ - hit apply and finally I found I was able to connect without an error message (after inputting the correct WEP key). Unfortunately the DHCP did not work correctly after this and I kept receiving IP addresses in the range of 169.254.x.x (an internal default) rather than my networks expected 192.168.0.x range.The Ipod touch couldn’t find any DNS servers or connect to the internet. To get round this I set the router ‘security options’ to use WPA instead (WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)) instead of WEP. Set the new WPA password at the bottom of the wireless settings page - again hit apply - and configured the ipod to use the new password and WPA PSK instead of WEP.This worked fine – although it does mean I have to change the settings on all my other wireless devices around the house! The weird thing is that although the router isn’t using WEP encryption changing the 'authentication type' setting back to ‘shared key’ in the WEP menu breaks the WPA connection again – very odd? I blame netgear and their obviously crazy wep code :)
