Question about Projection Televisions

My Samsung CLP 600 Printer is giving an error message that the transfer belt is not installed. I tried a new transfer belt, but still get the error. Tried seating the door snuggly, taking the tranfer belt out and reinstall - nothing worked.

I have already checked that the latch on the door that opens to install the belt and get to the toners is fully down. I double checked by lifting the latch a little, lifting it did stop the printer from cycling, but re-setting it did not turn the no belt installed error off.

transfer belt is correctly installed, double checked.

I think a printer driver problem is a remote possibility. Looking for a solution related to the belt and how the sensor works/how to test or bypass it.

  • dpatter Oct 20, 2008

The suggestion was to find the side with the three wires on the bottom of the belt transfer unit. The unit does not have exposed wires. There is a sensor on the bottom of one side, and there is some sort of electrical connection one half way up the right side of the transfer unit.

  • dpatter Oct 20, 2008

The idea of resetting the printer from the menu was a good thought - but I cannot get to the menu - the install belt message error message does not let me get to any other menu. Is there a way to get to the menu, getting past the error message.

  • dpatter Oct 21, 2008

The comment was - did I change toner cartridges lately. I did, but I don't have the old cartridge to put back in. Why would a toner cartridge change cause a problem with the transfer belt!!! I did put an old black cartridge in the slot for yellow - the most recent cartridge I changed - and that did not change the anything.

As suggested - I did seat the door and lever firmly - no change there

I'm sure that sensor is defective and such type of sensors are Infra red. You can test sensor's Infra Red LED by any digital camera or mobile phone camera but Photo Sensor test (other part of sensor unit) requires digital meter to check its hi-low status.
Good Luck.

Hi,

Your post is about an error message "INSTALL TRANSFER BELT". Was there a recent change of toner (cartridge)? If, yes, is it an original? If not, pls try temporarily installing the old/original.

Alternately, try pushing the handle (on the side with the cartridge) really hard with a solid snapping action and sound. Sometimes the switch/sensor fails when done slowly/gently.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I know that this might not have any impact on a "not installed" message, but it couldn't hurt to reset the transfer counter if you haven't done that yet. This is the counter that you reset to clear the "replace transfer belt" message.

Menu - Maintainance - Check Others - Transfer Belt - Reset - Reset Now Hope this helps, Chad

Take out the transfer unit and look at the bottom. One side has visible wires. Open the side panel on that side. Follow the 3 wires to a C shaped sensor held in with a screw. Remove the sensor and blow canned air in the slots on the inside of the C. The side plate is about 3 inches long and has the two screws fixing it on. The sensor has a single screw fixing it, but in fact just looks like a black cover plate. Lever it out easilly at the screw end, not the other end which is impossible.

Ok... Does the sensor look like some kind of optical reflective sensor?

Working of sensor .

The paper is picked up from the tray and advanced to the print zone.An LED shines onto the surface of the paper. The reflection of the light is captured and recognized. This reflection gives the printer information about the paper coating characteristics for the particular paper. This information is compared to a reference table of paper types that the printer has stored internally. Then, based on the information, the printer determines color mapping, half-toning, and number of print passes to produce the best output for the paper being used. The sensing process may add up to five seconds to the print process.

It is because the sensor is not aware that the side is shut. You have to push the handle in (the one used to open the side with the cartridges) as far as it will go to alert the sensor that the side has been shut and the transfer belt is installed and in place.

Trying to connect PS3 to Samsung HL-S4676S tv using HDMI cable. I get message saying mode not supported

So I had this same problem. I found that when I hooked to a 1080p TV my PS3 was working, however when I hooked to my 1080i it said Not Supported Mode. So I then hooked to the 1080p and told my PS3 to limit it's self to 1080i mode and hooked it to my Samsung TV and it worked just fine. Give that a try and it should solve the problem. Hope this helps.

I've just installed a new lamp, but the lam and temp indicators are flashing. Thisis supposed to mean that the plastic compartment door is not closed properly. But it is. Help please.

Try taking the door off and manually hold the switch down. If its still gives the error, you have two choices. 1.) Replace the lamp switch or 2.) cut the wire and splice them together.

Check Fan No. 2 Error Message

The DMD board you installed is bad. It senses the detection line from the fan and generates the error code. Try installing the old DMD board.

Samsung printer/copier toner doesn't bond very well to paper. Toner is on the edges of the paper too.

It would seem that your fuser is faulty in the printer. Odd that the printer is not reporting a low temperature error maybe the Samsungs don't check the temperature.

Depending on the value of the printer it may not be a good idea to replace the fuser, it might be hard to find a replacement. If this printer is worth less than $200 new, I would say replace the printer, the fuser would likely cost more.

Fan error

It is possible that some debris has entered the fan and is preventing it from spinning fast enough to be detected. Try opening up the back and blowing out the fan area. Check to be sure that the fan spins freely (with the power off/unplugged) and try again. Let us know how you make out.
