SOURCE: please help

your problem is your linear intergrated amplifier chip has blown, or has dry joints. causing you system to go in to protect mode which stops more damage being caused and fire not occurring. if you have no technical back ground in electronics, then i wouldnt attempt repair yourself. if you have take cover off and on the long metal heat sink there is a black like box with between ten and thirty legs going in to circiut board thats your problem, theres a code on the front of it with 2 or 3 letters then a number, thats your part number they range in price from between £7.00 to 50.00 pounds.. hope this helps

SOURCE: PROTECT MESSAGE

Most likely he has a couple of the connectors crossed. It is going in protect mode to keep it from damaging the internal electronics. Open it back up and double check all connections. then let me know.

Check back speaker wires! this is protection mode! There is a short circut! look for stray wires touching metal or each other!
if this does not do it then unit will have to be fixed by a pro!

I have a jvc home stereo model number CA-HXC6 i have had it for a few years its on protect mode and i cant get it off dont know how it cuts off

Turn off power, unplugg unit, very carefully check speaker wire connections making sure no wires are touching each other or the back of the unit same at speakers connections. Also check speakers. Blown drivers can short terminals internally. This is the most likely problem. Remove the short, unit will come back on

Hxd7 protect

Don't buy a stereo that prints up 'PROTECT MODE' and then does not tell you how to cure it. This is a good way of getting people to buy a new one only live and learn do not buy the same manufacturer again. I have a nice just out of warrenty JVC that when I switch it on sits there grinning at me with 'PROTECT MODE' showing. Yes I have entered cash protect mode and decided I am not going to buy another JVC.
