Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Philips GoGear SA6087/37 8GB won't sync songs anymore.

Hi! I've been having problems with my Philips GoGear 6087/37 8GB MP3 Player. I can no longer put songs on it.. nor can I repair it through the Philips Device Manager. It is recognized by my computer and I can browse the files, delete unwanted ones... but that is it.. I don't know what to do at all, seeing as I can not use the Device Manager to repair it either...

I have ruled out problems with my computer because I have installed the software on another computer and tried it from there with the same exact problems..

anyone have a clue? Please help!

    i am having the same problem, i can browse the files, and add and delete but when i try to play my songs it readsfile format not supported

    I've set my mp3 player back to factory settings AND deleted everything off of it.. it still won't sync anything to it

    Mine has the same problem, I returned it to factory settings and deleted everything, then tried to load songs. The first song i try to load takes about a minute, then the rest load with no problems and all play fine, but when trying to play the 1st song I loaded, it says "file format not supported". Give it a try, maybe it'll work for you too. Does anybody know how to fix the problem completely?

I had the same problem and sadly the only way to fix it is to go through and bring the mp3 player back to factory settings:\ it sucks but its the only way it will work.

Hi, How to Download Music to the Philips GoGear

The Philips GoGear Micro Jukebox is a portable MP3 player that plays MP3 files and WMA files and also displays photos. Download music, copy it to the GoGear player and enjoy your tunes everywhere you go.

Things You'll Need:

* Philips GoGear and USB cable
* Internet connection
* Online music download service
* Secure method of making online payments
* Windows Media Player software


Download music in MP3 or WMA formats. You can buy songs from many online sources. If you choose to buy from iTunes, be aware that you will need to convert them from the native iTunes format to MP3 files. The iTunes software will do this for you.

Import the songs to your Windows Media Player Library if they are not already there. Windows Media Player can be set to check for new files in certain folders each time it launches, so this might happen automatically.

Connect the Philips GoGear device to your computer with the USB cable and click on the "Sync" tab in Windows Media Player. Drag songs you want to copy to the "Sync list" on the right-hand side of the Windows Media Player window.

Click on the "Start Sync" button at the bottom of the list pane when you have all of the songs on the list. You should be able to check at the top of the list pane to see how much space is available on your MP3 player in order to make sure you have enough room.

Songs Won't Sync To MP3 Anymore.


have u tried opening the mp3's folder files and dragging the music in there?

I have not been able to copy CD's onto the MP3 player. I keep getting a formatting error when trying to convert even though I am using WMA and have tried MP3.


mdcope2 - delete the msuic files that you already ripped from CD off the GoGear. If you Rip a song in WMA, and then re-rip it in Mp3 format, when you go to sync the mp3 file, the GoGear will basically ignore the new file, because it thinks that the file is already on the GoGear since it has almost the same name. Once you have deleted the affected songs, re-Rip the songs in Mp3 format using Windows Media Player. This time, when you go to sync the songs, it will work.

Guest - to load video files onto the GoGear, you have to convert and sync them through the Philips Media Converter - no other method will work.

Several possibilities:
When you first synced your player to Windows Media Player, you may have set up the automatic sync option. When this option is selected, Windows Media Player will add EVERY song, picture, etc from your Library on your computer to the player. Now, every time you sync you device, it adds every new file from your computer into the player automatically. It will even delete songs from your player that were on there before.

Go into Windows Media Player 11 with your player connected to the computer (it will automatically sync and add new files one last time), move the mouse cursor over to the sync tab; a small black arrow will appear under the word "Sync"; click on the small black arrow and a dropdown menu will appear; select "Portable media device" from the dropdown menu, and another dropdown menu will appear; select "Set Up sync"; a window will appear with some information on your device - uncheck the box that says "Sync this device automatically"; click Finish; This will eliminate the problem of Windows always adding/deleting songs/files you don't want into your player.

If this does not work, then:
Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

When i try to put new songs on my Philips (4 gb)mp3 player it won't let me....


I know that the number of songs is not as much as what the product advertises, but long songs can throw off this total. Open up the icon of the goGear in windows Media Player and find out how much available memory there is left.

If there is PLENTY (I mean more than 100 MB left) of space left, then:
Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button

Enter your model number
On the next page, click on your exact model number without the "B" on the end
On the next page, click on "software and drivers"

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.
