Hello, HP's printer technicians screwed up my new

That's pretty crazy! I would have told you to turn the printer off, and unplug it from power. Same thing with the computer. Then follow a few basic procedures.

Better grab a cup of coffee, this is going to be a long one.

I have no idea what changes, the 'tech' implemented on your computer. Would have to undo what the 'tech' did step by step.

I do know one thing, however. Using the Restoration Disk/s, is not going to fix Adobe CS4.

We'll have to go step by step. I can only guide you if you have Windows Vista. (The HP Pavilion Elite e9180t is also offered with Windows 7)

Ready?

Printer:

Printer off, unplugged from power. USB cable unplugged from computer side.

You need to go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
(Left-click on the Windows start button, then click on Control Panel. In Control Panel click on Add/Remove Programs)

When Add/Remove Programs loads, find the HP OfficeJet software listed. Go to the right, and left-click on Remove.

If it asks, 'Do you wish to restart your computer?', the answer is NO.
Close Add/Remove Programs. Close Control Panel. Go back to your desktop screen.
Shut your computer down normally.

Unplug the computer from power. Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of at least Five seconds. Let go of the Power On button.
Do this procedure two more times.

What you are doing is clearing CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS back to the factory default settings. (No, do not take the CMOS battery out)

Now plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute. Turn the computer on. Let Windows load all the way.

Install the installation CD for the OfficeJet printer, into your DVD drive. Install the software. If it asks you to restart your computer, go ahead, and do so.

After Windows has fully loaded again, plug the USB cable of the printer into the computer. Turn the printer on. You should get a message out of your system tray.
'Found New Hardware', and perhaps another one,
'Found Officejet printer'.

You should now have your printer back online.

Quicktime:
Go to Add/Remove Programs, Click on Change.
In the options given, click on Repair.
If this doesn't do it, go back to Add/Remove Programs, and - Remove, Quicktime. Now go to Apple - Quicktime - Download, and download the newest version for Windows Vista.

(If you need help with this, let me know)

Will add more in additional comments section.

Tip

Automatically Close Programs at Shutdown

When you shut down Windows, if you have any programs running you'll get a message box warning you that a program is still running. You then have to close the program and tell XP again to shut down. It's a fairly pointless warning—better yet would be if XP automatically killed the programs without issuing the warning. That way, you wouldn't get error messages and wouldn't have to close each individual application before shutting down your computer.
To have XP automatically close programs at shutdown, run the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Edit the AutoEndTasks key so that is has a value of 1. If the key doesn't exist, create it as a DWORD value and give it the value of 1. To disable it, either delete the key, or set the value to 0.

On starting hp pavilion m7680y. I get: AOL error:

Open the Windows Task Manager (in WinXP) by pressing and holding down CTRL-ALT-DEL. In the Applications tab, highlight each program and click the End Task button. Once the Applications tab is empty, close the Windows Task Manager. Then, launch AOL again. (If you’re using an earlier OS, such as Windows 98, press CTRL-ALT-DEL to open the Close Program window, and close every program except Explorer and Systray.)

You should of got an error message after it wouldn't open. Pls try to post it so we can see what happened. Sometimes the picture will be open down at the bottom of the email which you may not notice because your trying to work with the attachment. If you find them at the bottom, (it matters which format they come down in) right click/ copy/ go to my pics/ paste or save pic as/ then select destination folder. You can also click on the pic and it will ask you what you want to do. Anything that goes wrong 99.9% of the time will give you the error message. Very Important!!!

Having installed Roxio Creator 10, I get a recurring message: "RoxMMTrayApp Module has encountered a problem and needs to close." Etc. It occurs even when I am not editing with that software. ...

ROXIO Multi Media Tray Application Module Has Encountered a problem and needs to close.

This Means ROXIO Creator 10 Try Application Encountered an error.

And since it happens while burning a disc

You should

1. Uninstall ROXIO Creator 10 , and reinstall it to make sure nothing is corupted.

2. If you still get the same problem it's time to check your intire system for errors.

This can mean you will need to take trouble shooting steps.

1. Use another burning program to see if you can burn without errors.

2. if you can burn fine with another burning program like NERO then chances are
you have an incompatability with ROXIO Creator 10 and should consult the documentation
to see if your drive is actually supported by it.

Do these things weed hopper and all will be well with you.

Unable to run HPTotal Care Advisor

So, first you need:

Either -
HP Help and Support for Microsoft Vista (32-bit Editions): here

or

HP Help and Support for Microsoft Vista (64-bit Editions): here

And you'll need:

HP Active Support Library: here

However, I cannot find the HP Total Care Advisor anywhere.

Try Add/Remove Programs and click on the Total Care to see if there is a 'repair' option.
