The tv model is KDF-E50A12U ,and is connected to ps3 via HDMI cable. Games play is no problem, but playing blu- ray movies there is a green shadow around people, buildings etc.

A model number of the TV would help as well as how the pieces are connected to one another (HDMI, component composite)

It sounds as though you have a bad optical block. Unfortunately I am not familiar with that model (it appears to be a european model and I am in the states). If this answered your question, please be sure to rate the solution. Thanks!

I don't understand why this was rated thanks for trying, other than the fact that I gave you, the user bad news that you didn't want. I believe I correctly diagnosed the problem.

How to connect blue ray disc player to rca rear projection tv

Unfortunately, there are a couple potential problems. First of all, if you RCA rear projection tv is fairly old and is not a High Definition tv, you may not have an hdmi, dvi, or component connector cables inputs. Without these, you are left connecting your blu-ray only by the standard yellow (video), along with the audio (red and white) rca cables... either way, the High Definition portion of the blu-ray won't work with a non-High Definition tv. It may be time to buy an HD capable tv to use your blu-ray effectively...

Green tint to picture when dvi cable is connected

The tv will show correctly in 720p mode. Cable box and PS3 must be set to display in 720p or the green tint will remain. For the PS3 I return it to 1080p when I am about to play a game, blu-rays and dvd's can only play in 720p.
