That could be electronic controller. the problem with those controller are they are very well covered with epoxy. even the parts can not be tested for trouble shooting.

open it up and you will find out what i am saying.

you can open up the unit, check the electronics controller.
now look for some sign of burnt epoxy or discoloration, this is a sign of over heating part. either a resistor or a transistor. check also the wiring harness that is attached to it. it could just be a simple case of loose wiring.

if you found a suspected part, remove the epoxy by heating it slowly with a soldering iron. and as the soldered terminals appears, you can de solder the part to check and replace if necessary.

tnx again and thank you for the rating,

I have been given a Whirlpool AWM 312 by friends moving overseas and don't know how to operate it and would like to get a manual. My main problem is what drawer (front the left facing the machine) do I...

The manuals for most Whirlpool appliances are available here: http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp . Look for the full model number under the lid on the rim of the washer. AWM 312 is not a complete model number. Next is the washer a top loading or front loading machine? This is actually indicated in the model number - most Whirlpool models start WFW (front-load) or WTW (top-load). The exception is the compact washers (LCE4332PQ is the current model).

For the front-loading washers, the detergent goes into the largest compartment (usually the left-most part of the drawer). Top-loading washers that have a detergent compartment usually have it positioned at the top center back of the tub. Use HE detergent for high efficiency washers and do not use more detergent than recommended (using less is okay).

I hope this helps.

My Lid on my washer displays open when I close it and won't start if lid is open... please help.

your lid switch is not working or may be jammed try opening the top of the back of the washer make sure the lid switch is working im not sure if the mtw range uses switch or magnetic recognision with switch there is a small lid switch that clicks when the lid is slightly lifted with magnetic it makes no noise however they can both be bypassed by cutting the switch wires normaly black and red running along the right side of the control board (making sure power plug is not plugged in) stripping the two wires and joing them together

this should work

I posted a problem with a Neptune top load washer

The lid lock is bad part # is left side  25001048 runs around $80,the problem tends to stem from the dispensers water and bleach work their way into the switch and I have never had much luck cleaning them out and getting them to work.. and that is left hand side as you are facing the machine.

Washer does not spin or agitate at all. Timer works.

Check your belt. It may have become loose.
On the top right and left of the front panel insert a putty knife about 3 inches in where the top meets the front panel.
This will release the front panel so that you can see the motor and belt operation.

Better still, a 5 month old machine call for factory authorized service.

Frigidaire washing machine top load. troubleshoot

There are levelers at the corners of the unit for levelng - tubs have springs attached to them for righting the tub while working (spinning, agitating) - also if the clothes are evenly distrbuted in tub it will wobble badly during operation.

Leaking is usually from the drain pump especially from the point whwere the hose is attached to the pump

Kenmore washer just stopped

Open and close lid, listen for 'clicking' sound. If no 'clicking' sound, check/replace lid switch. Also try tightening the lid hinge screws on the left side. if these screws come loose, the machine will not operate
