I keep getting this error code at start: 194 SERVICE CODE CDC.
Somw say it is due to a deffect in the ROM SIMM. What do you say, brother?
I have broewsed everywhere or (almost everywhere) on the internet, but it appears am not getting the part. Hope you can assist.
Update the printer's base code to at least version 852.054 and the engine code to at least version 9.05-R02:

You will need to contact Lexmark Technical Support to obtain the proper
key code for your printer model. IMPORTANT: The code for base printers is different from the code for network printers;please be mindful of this when requesting a key code from Technical Support.
Go back to the firmware download page and enter the key code given to you by Technical Support to initiate the downloading of printer code.
Unzip the downloaded file containing both the base and engine codes to a convenient folder or location. Then follow the instructions for your configuration in the ReadMe file that downloads with the code. You can also find these instructions in the appropriate link below.

F11 is the code for a communication error between the CCU and motor control unit. sometimes just re-seating the connectors on the CCU cures it. if not, odds are it is a faulty CCU and needs to be replaced.

The following is an extract from the Brother Service Manual that covers your machine:
"Error Code 50 & 51:
The purge cam switch
does not come ON or OFF
even after the purge cam
has been driven by the
specified number of
pulses."
The manual lists seven different causes, best case being the need to clean part of the mechanism, the worst case being replace the whole main electronics board !
Unless you have very good skills for dismantling such a complicated machine*, your choices are take it to a Brother Service agent who will probably charge you more than a new machine, or bin it - sorry !
* If you want to have a go at dismantling it, the service manual can be bought on eBay for about £5. If you don't want to spend that much, I can supply you a .PDF file copy for £1 - just post back here and I'll sort it out.
Hi there only can try.
This is a firmware error, meaning your f/w simm is probably bad. You can try reseating the simm. It is behind the small panel in the back of the plotter, that is held on by 4 torq screws. Reseat all the simms that are present and see if that helps. If not, you probably need to purchase a new firmware simm.
Also try looking at pulling the JetDirect card and then re booting it
I get this error every time I start the printer. I press the ONLINE, CONTINUE/ENTER, PAGE EJECT, CANCEL PRINT keys (in that order) and the error goes away. I've been running this way for over 5 years.
