Hi...there,
Your screen resolution settings are to high...plugged into another monitor right click and go to properties and click on settings to resettings by moving the bar back to 1 or 2 knots from your monitor.

Connectivity card from montior to CPU is different than other PCs, in back side of the monitor its showing to type VGA and other one DFid something, In my CPU i dont have the slot for the other type DFi, ...

Hi,

I believe you are referring to a DVi connector. We have different types of connectors but none of them is DFi. We have VGA, HDMI, SATA, and DVi connectors. Here's a cheklist of what you need to do:
  1. Check the connector of the computer whether you have VGA, HDMI, SATA, or DVi
  2. Check the connector of the monitor whether you have VGA, HDMI, SATA, or DVi
  3. Now that you know the type of connectors you have for your system, you know what cable to buy.
It does not really matter if your computer and monitor have different connectors. We can purchase cables with VGA - VGA, HDMI - HDMI, DVi - DVi, VGA - HDMI, VGA - DVi, HDMI - DVi. So, don't worry and thank you for choosing FixYa!

I HAVE A LG Full HD 1080p HDMI W2753V-PF 27-inch i was told my my tech that the monitor needs an inverter...Where can i get one and what is the part number ..if anyone could help me...

Well, you monitor has several input interfaces/connectors like;
  • D-Sub (Vga connector)
  • DVI
  • HDMI
If you are connecting this monitor to a computer, then you can use the Vga cable which came with the package. You can see the Vga cable here.. 3d8a2c8.jpg
You have to plug in either the terminal to the computer Vga port as shown below; 876c259.jpg

If in case you want better video quality and you don't have hdmi or dvi port
7b52172.jpeg
Dvi Port and Connector;

c866595.jpg
Hdmi Port
then you can use Vga to Dvi or 366d33f.jpg Vga to Hdmi a61953c.jpg
cables (these are available in most retailer stores)
It is not important to connect or purchase additional converter/hardware to connect you computer to the monitor, if you don't like the vga, you can simply get those cables.
I you let me know the Video card of your computer, I can help you better and shortened all these, but never mind, just refer to the pictures above and let me know if you can't make sure of yourself.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

I have just changed from sky+ to sky+hd. My TV is a Philips 26PF4310/10 with a DVI connector. I purchased a DVI-D to HDMI connector as instructed by Sky engineer and picturewise it works fine but...

You need to connect sound separately - DVI only supports video and not sound. You'll notice a 3.5mm audio in jack on the back of the Philips. You need to plug your sound output in there.

Connecting to HD TV

This TV has no HDMI input socket. It Has a DVI input socket. Therefore you will require an HDMI to DVI converter adapter or an HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI is video only so you will require audio cables from your Sky box (Audio L and R ) which will connect to the back left of your TV (Audio L/R sockets next to the s-video and component video connectors)

Connect tv to cable box with hdmi lead

You will need an HDMI to DVI cable which are available in the shops, even ASDA has one but I don't know how good it is. Or you can buy an adapter that will plug into one of the ends of the HDMI cable and then plug into the DVI socket at the back of the TV. The DVI input is video only so you will need audio leads for sound. These will connect from the output of your source, say, blue ray or sky HD (Left and right audio sockets ) to the audio L/R at the back left of the TV (on the block next to the three component video connections and s-video connections)

Is it hd

Strictly speaking to be HD Ready a TV must fullfill 2 things:

1. Have a Screen Resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
2. Have at least 1 HDMI Socket.

Your TV has neither of these, so it is NOT HD Ready, however, it will still be more than capable of showing SKY HD, and it will still look very nice indeed.

I would need a list of the connections on the rear of the TV to tell you which cable to buy, but:

If it has DVI, then a simple HDMI to DVI cable will do for the video.

If it has component, i.e Yb, Yr etc then you will need a more expensive HDMI - Component Video cable.

But otherwise, yes, SKY HD will work fine.

I hope this helps.

Trying to hook up my PS3 to my Viewsonic N3000W to enable me to watch HD BluRay Discs. There is no HDMI socket at the rear of the telly. Disc plays but HD picture quality looks the same as ordinary DVD....

Your TV has a DVI input connector, but no HDMI as you noted. Adapters (fondly called "dongles") are available to convert from the DVI connector to an HDMI jack so you can connect your HDMI source. Search for "dvi to hdmi adapter" with your favorite search engine and you will find them.

As for settings, this set has 720p resolution. Make sure your source is set accordingly, and you should be set to get the best quality you can with the connections available.

Please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating if you've found it what you needed, and thanks for asking here!

SKY HD

IT should work with Sky HD because the resolution is high enough at 1366x768.
Its HD Ready
