my cam work nrmal but the scene does not appear on the screen
Problem for Sony Handycam DCR-TRV250E Digital-8 Digital Camcorder
No picture on viewfinder or LCD
no picture on viewfinder or LCD when trying to record or playback, but the info is there, ie tape time, battery power, zoom ect. Would this be a setting or hardware prob.

- have the same problem but when recording we can see the picture but its the playback thats an issue..theres no picture whatsoever..- angeljaymeBest Solution

This is a common CCD defect in numerous Sony and other digital cameras. It will be covered free of charge by Sony even if the equipment is out of warranty. Check this site: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.... and use the link there to get your free repair!
