The message means that your monitor can't handle the current display settings. Try rebooting in safe mode and lowering your display settings in the control panel.

Best and easiest thing to do is go to www.crucial.com and run a scan of your computer. It will tell you what you have, how much it will hold, and what kind of modules.

    Yes, it's safe.

Can't reboot Compaq/Presario desktop, (power supply is working)

If the system recovery disk doesn't work it usually mans that the hard drive is bad. I would change the hard drive and use the system recovery disk on it after replacement.

    3. is your system recognizing the hard drive (go to start>run>type devmgmt.msc and press enter> and look under cd/dvd rom drives... is your device listed? is it showing with a ? unknown device or a ! next to it's name?
    a. if the device is not listed chances are you didn't set up the jumper correcly when installing the device or the device may not be powered or there's an issue with the data cable connectd to the device and the motherboard, check your physical setup.
    4. check the removable media is in fact compatible with your drive: this is the compatibility list
    • Device write media compatibility: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL,

COREL x4 running very slow & spooler problem

    System Requirements:

    Processor:
    # Pentium III, 800MHz or AMD Athlon XP

    Operating System:
    # Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later
    # Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit editions)

    Hard Disk:
    # 430 MB

    Memory:
    # 512 MB RAM

    Optical Drive:
    # DVD-ROM

    Other:
    # 1,024 × 768 or better monitor resolution
    # Mouse or tablet

Where these are the minimum specs I would recommend at least 1+gb memory and a good graphics card and a P4 or AMD processor running at 1.8ghz or better, and that would depend on how in depth you get into the program
