If it still starts ..and displays devices and still able to enter bios..just go there and select the optimal defaults (factory ) and engage them and after that press F10 to save ..and exit ..try to boot to windows again and see if it works ...My suggestion si to reinstall teh operation system anyway and start again with a clean install ...This way if it will behave the same you will know it is a physical issue ,,and see causes..Usually when it crashes suddenly it is a cpu fault ..and usually related with the temperature..(the fan unable to cool it down ...clean the temp. dispenser...be sure the cooler is functional ..and also if you run powerful software and games on it for long hours...buy an external cooling device ..)
Crashed is a generic term, and the physical memory dump error is a windows based error that could be a bad memory stick, or a corruption in windows. If you have 2 sticks of memory in your laptop, a cheap and easy way to troubleshoot this would be to remove one stick, then the other,to see if one stick removed stops the crash. If it does, then you have solved the problem, and if it doesnt' then you have a corrupt software issue.
Are you opening a an excel file and excel crashes or are you opening up excel by itself and it crashes?
If your opening a file then it's most likely corrupted. If it's just excel that is crashing then you might have some files that got damaged during the power outtage. To fix that problem close all your applications, go to my computer, right click on C drive, properties, tool, error checking, check now, click both options and click ok. It might ask you to reboot. If excel doesnt' work after that you will have to reload MS office. Your file system will be fixed though.
