Send it in for repair is you still have warranty.
If not you can purchase a power supply for about 40 bucks plus shipping and change it yourself (it is pretty easy). This will solve your problem if there is no lights whatsoever (not the green-yellow-red light).
If interested in a working power supply contact me at email@example.com.

Do you have a disk stuck inside? Many issues have simple fixes. For some reason, when the Blueray drive fails to read a disk, it sees it as a fault and shuts the system down. If you don't have a disk in, try putting one in and see if that turns your system on. Also, the PS3 system auto recognizes the audio/video connection. If you don't have it connected to your video source,(TV, Projector, etc.) It won't turn on properly. Just some things to think about, and I hope this helps. Good luck. ^^
It would help, if you posted the model number of your system, as they do vary sightly. Is there a disk inside they system? This could be the main problem in witch there are several solutions to remove it. If not, than try inserting a disk, as the PS3 auto recognizes a disk being inserted and turns on the system. If the light is on, and it wont let you power it on, then generally it's the stuck disk problem. ^^ Hope this helps, and good luck. PS3 Slim Manual Eject for Stuck Disc
1. First shut down the system by flipping the power switch in the back off.
2. Hold down the eject disc button.
3. While still holding down the eject button, flip the power switch to turn back on your PS3.
4. When the green light comes on, wait a few seconds then tap the eject button a couple times. The fan will run on full power and the disc will eject.
switch off ps3, right now before turning on the ps3 keep your hand pressed firmly down on the eject button and the on/off button simultainisly and then power up, it will make a loud fan noise but the game/dvd will pop out.
How are you trying to turn it on? It wont work with the PS button on your controller first time because to controller wont be connected via Bluetooth. There's a button (pressure sensitive not a push switch) on the front of the console by the BR disk slot. Its also possible it is switching on, does the green light come on at the front of the console come on? If so then you’ve probably not got it set to the right output channel. So it'll be outputting to your analog instead of your HDMI or vice versa. I think the Analog is standard so plug in a scart cable and see if you get something then change to HDMI in your settings.
Otherwise either your cable/tv or ps3 is broke :S
your PS3 probably overheated. it does this with 2-3 hours of nostop play. you need to cocheck it every 20-30 mintues after one hour and take breaks to let it cool down, so it doesnt malfunction. i would take it to somewhere like Game Stop and have it shipped for repair. i would also leave it unplugged and not try to turn it on, for the risk of further damage.
