Pump not removing water

Pump will no longer remove water from machine. I removed old water and checked for debris in filter, but it was clean. I did attempt to remove water with shop vac from discharge hose going into my wall and was not able to do so. Is it common for hose from pump to discharge to become clogged? I can hear pump come on and attempt to pump water, makes a loud noise as if it might be clogged, but none is removed.

Hi if you open/remove rear panel on washer ELECTRIC TURNED OFF/UNPLUGGED ! you will see large bore hose from wash drum to the pump ? it will be held in place with sprung clips around on each end ? now you may have some water still in pump so be ready for mopping ! disconnect this hose at the pump end you may be surpised at what you find that could be blocking/ not allowing water to gravity feed into pump for discharge ? (have had bra underwires/socks/buttons hankies etc) dont ask how the ------ did that get there but they do! also if you are unsure about the flex from pump to drain? i would not expect the debri? as mentioned to have passed thro pump impellor recheck the flex hose and the drain pipe thro wall ? for any kinks? hope this helps ?

If the filter is not blocked, then check that nothing made it past the filter and into the pump impeller. Also, if the pump impeller has come loose from the pump shaft, you will have to change the pump motor. Just pushing the impeller back on will only result in it coming off again. I don't know if any adhesive on the shaft would solve that issue. I've never tried that as I didn't want a call back.
Pop the rectangular recess out from around the filter area. (putty knife at the right and left edges).
Remove phillips screws.
Tilt washer back.
Reach under washer and remove pump. (there is a tab on the bottom which locks pump onto washer base. If you break the tab, don't worry about it, the screws will hold the pump in place just fine)
Impeller does not just spin freely. It turns a third of a revolution at a time as you turn it by hand.
Remove any object or replace motor as needed. Motor held onto pump housing by three screws also.

Hotpoint ultima Wt920 problem F5

Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
  2. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood. Alternatively bale out the sump under the main screen filter plate.
  3. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked or restricted.
  4. Also check that the main waste drain pipe and one way valve to a sink waste connection if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
  5. Access the pump from under the lower rotor arm and protective grille and check that the impeller is free to move and is not clogged or restricted by debris or sludge. Clean as required.
  6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power. It is a good idea to take digital pictures of the pump assembly before attempting to work on it or remove it so that you can refer back to it when you reassemble the unit or replace it with a new unit at a later date / time.
8. Remove and check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure they are in good order.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage. If they are then clean them thoroughly.
10. Then remove the pump and check motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. Also check that the pump impeller vanes are in good order and not blocked. If necessary replace the pump with a new and identical unit.
11. Carefully reassemble the pump observing the correct placement of gaskets, seals, O Rings, hoses and securing straps, electrical wiring.
12. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.

Hi, You pump filter screen is clogged up of you may even actually have something stuck in the pump. Unplug machine, remove the bottom front panel 2-3 screws along the bottom. look for the filter/screen housing next to the pump. place a shallow pan under it. Be prepared for lots if water and debris. Unscrew it slowly to drain then screw it back in to shut off and dump pan repeat until no longer full of water. Remove and clean all debris out screen, housing and hose.

What does problem f2 mean

Hello,

the drain pump has either failed or the pump filter has become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel. There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) BE READY TO CATCH LOTS OF WATER. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris.

Take care.
