OK, still no surround sound - left, right, center speakers work. It's been to Circuit City for possible IC problem, NO problems found by them - the got the surround left and right working fine.
Think maybe simple set up feature - but need help - driving us crazy!!!!!!!!!!!
No pink noise when level calibrated, etc. hookup is according to diagrams, etc. tv, dvd and cd players all work with subwoofer, front left, right and center speakers. again, think it's something in setup that we're not doing right. THANK YOU!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please add a comment to your previous post next time, it makes it easier to see this post has a relevant history. I had to go check in your profile when I saw the word "still".

Shooting in the dark, and saying the obvious(just bear in mind a month ago I was going crazy over a problem that ended up being the blanace knob turned to the right) - could it be that you're not using a digital signal? I'm not sure you can get surround with analog.
Make sure all settings are for digital, and that you're using a coaxial/optical cable going from the DVD to your receiver.

I hope you'll end up embarassed but happy.

Good luck

MAKE SHURE YOU HAVE SPEAKERS PLUGED INTO SURROUND NOT SURROUND BACK AS THESE ARE FOR 6.1 AND 7.1 SYSTEMS.
TELL AMP YOU HAVE SURROUND SPEAKERS AND NO SURROUND BACK.
PS, MOST ONKYO AMPS WILL ONLY LET YOU SET THIS AS HAVEING 1 SURROUND BACK DONT WORRY AS THIS WILL NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS.

HOPE THIS HELPS.
