Question about Euro-Pro Shark SC-505 Handheld Steam Vacuum
I just bought one from a thrift store we were able to get the top off! We used wd 40 and vice grips and it came off. The machine looks like it was only used once and someone left the water in it. I immediately put white vinegar in it and rinsed it out to remove the sediment that gets in it. There was ALOT. Secret is if you put a bit of white vinegar in it when you steam it will keep the sediment from forming. A bit of CLR now and again wouldn't hurt either. I just didn't have any tonight. We managed to break off the plastic piece off the top, but the metal part that actually seals it is still in tact and it works perfectly. If anyone has a replacement top I would love to buy if off you. Send me an email at: email@example.com

This seems to be a common problem with the SC505 model. I ended up breaking mine off and now trying to sell off the attachments to get some money back.

Run boiling water over the top; it will come right off.
