Re: FLASHING LIGHTS ON REFRIGERATORS
The reason for the blinkin light is to let you know that the freezer has detected higher than normal temps, did you expierence and food loss??? good indicator is ice cream ( it would look as if it has melted and refroze) generally you can reset the "alarm" by holdin down for 3 sec, and if it happens again soon after reseting id would imagine you are experiencing a problem.not dangerous, more for your information.
a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

To Start the Appliance
Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours after
installation. Plug in the appliance and switch on at the mains
supply. Turn the thermostat control (B) to a midway
setting and adjust the slider control, situated on the
back wall of the fridge section, to a midway position
between "MIN" and "MAX". The pilot light (A) will illuminate. Leave the appliance for approximately 4 hours for the correct temperature to be reached before placing food inside.
To switch off the appliance turn the thermostat
control to position "?"
After 4 hours, measure the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer. Should be between 2 and 10 degrees centigrade in refrigerator and app. -18 in freezer.
Did your Electrolux refrigerator previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will typically sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. Is your refrigerator beeping or did the alarm turn on? If so, first deactivate the alarm to your refrigerator by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your refrigerator. After deactivating the alarm and your refrigerator has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, your refrigerator may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause. Best - Z
I understand that your Electrolux refrigerator, model# DFF44, has the high temperature light on regularly, and it is not cooling as it should. In researching your model number, I have found that it was manufactured in Argentina. I suggest resetting your refrigerator, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Give your refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize at the set temperatures. If this does not work, I suggest contacting the manufacturer. Hope this is helpful.
From what I remember a flashing 4 means "damper error". Send your model number found inside or on the outside of the fresh food section, The air damper is found between the freezer and fresh food section and regulates temperature in the fresh food section by opening wide for things that warm up your fresh food section example would be opening the door and letting warm air inside . The damper then closes to keep the right temperature. If you have questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...
The flashing red light indicates the problem in the temperature of the unit. The temperature is rising over then required so the red light is flashing. There are some possibilities that you will have to get checked.
1) Make sure your freezer/refrigerator door is closing properly and sealing all around. If the doors are not closing properly then this can lead to rise in temperature. 2) If doors are proper and closed properly then other possibility is to check the compressor .Check the compressor is it running properly or its not running.Beside the compressor there is a fan if the fan is running the compressor is turning on if fan is not running the compressor is not running. If the unit is not getting very cold this also indicates the problem is in the compressor section.A weak or faulty compressor causes the temperature rise problem. 3) If compressor also checks out ok then the other possibility is fault in the thermostat of the unit. The thermostat is getting overheated and this is causing the red light flashing. 4) Before replacing any part in the unit try the defrost procedure first .Keep the unit unplugged from power and keep both the freezer/refrigerator doors open .let it remain unplugged for 24 hours. Then reconnect the power and check for some time.If the unit works properly that means defrost procedure solved the problem. But if same error light comes On flashing that means the faulty part needs replacement. You can get required parts for your refrigerator from the on-line sites like :-- www.partsselect.com. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution
and show your appreciation.
if you have frost in the freezer it either has an air leak on the gasket or the defrost system has failed and you need to call an honest appliance repair person, don't call sears$$$$$$$$$,check all around the gasket first, mike
