I have an error code E001 on my canon copier what could be the problem

This error usually is due to fuser unit temp failure. check that there is no dirt under thermistors and that there is contact with fuser rollers. distortion of round fuser rollers can also cause the thermistors to temporary loose contact with rollers, causing falsely low temp readings sent to main-controller which in turn will give out a error. If you decide to strip and check fuser,it can be extremely difficult so take pictures of everything you do so as when it comes to assembly you wont get things wrong. check thermistors for damage, dirt or poor contact with fuser rollers. also check that the fixing bearings are not worn or damaged as this will cause rollers to move away from thermistors. Good luck.

it is related to fing unit.
you can go in service mode by pressing (additional function +2 +8 + additional finction)
touch on copier then go in function after that touch on clear
Err -then press ok
dcon then press ok
rcon then press ok
if then after problem not solved you have to replace fixing unit thermistar
because it is related to fixing temperature.

Hi, Could you please help me with my Photocopier showing E001 and E003 after paper jammed, I have search the internet and i think you are the only one who could help me. Regards Katty

E001 is the universal code for an overheat issue. E003 is usually the main thermistor on fuser roller. Try gently cleaning face of thermistor, don't reset more than once in 15 min. or you may cause overheating and melt parts you don't want to.

What does error code E000001-0000 on a Canon IR5000 copier mean

The error code is much more likely to be E001, this is a fuser type fault. You should be able reset it in service mode. (copier, Funtion, Clear, error, turn m/c off then back on)
As the issue is a fuser temperature related. First, the error needs to be cleared. Turning off/on won't do that.
You could go into service mode and clear the error (*28* > copier> function > clear > err > ok. Then turn the copier off, then on again and watch it heat up. I always monitor the temperature to make sure it's in the acceptable range (190 C or around that range).
If it happens often I'd have the thermistors changed. If it still happens, check the connectors in back of the fuser. They may need to be shimmed.

Canon Imageclass D860 - I have a System Error E000 code on the LDC display. No paper jam or other problems evident. Disconnected power for 10 minutes and that didn't help. For this error code I am to...

This is a reprint from another tech, he was right on with this...

okay lets shed some light on the E000 error code on the D680, D880, IR1300 family ( including the 1310,1330,1370,1630,1670)
The error code E00 is a memory threshold error what it means is your machine has logged 4 of the following errors, E001,E002, or E003. It is a lockout error and the machine cannot be used until the problem has been repaired or the errors cleared. First lets look at the errors:
E001 fuser over temp means the fixing assy has exceeded the manufactures maximum temp limits
E002 fuser temp dropout means the fixing assy has cooled below a set point during a copy session
E003 fuser no response means the fixing assy didn't even attempt to warm up at power on
How to fix, most common problem is bad power setting 4 E002's either brown outs of brief power failures.
To clear the error, Enter service mode by pressing additional functions then the # button, use the left or right arrow buttons to scroll to #7 printer press set. again use the arrow buttons to scroll to #4 printer reset press set. press the appropriate arrow key under the YES to clear the error. unplug the copier and reboot. At this time normal function should return if not and it resets a E00 the you can assume either the fixing assy is bad or either the power supply PCB or DC controller is bad and it is getting E001,E003 errors. At that point id call a qualified tech to research the problem to avoid spending money on excess parts

Hope that helps...
