Question about RCA F27645 27" TV
I've had this model TV for 6 six years and have had no problems with it until late January 2006. When I first turn on the TV with the cable universal remote (we have digital TV cable), after about a minute the TV picture blinks pretty quickly and it shows channel number 3 on screen along with the 'stereo' option onscreen. It does this on every channel on our line-up whether it's the usual channel 2-13, 14-28 or any of the cable channels. After 5-10 minutes the blinking stops and the picture and sound is stable (no distortion), although sometimes it will blink once or twice even after the TV has been on for a couple of hours, and sometimes the TV turns off-but not the cable. I have had the cable company over for two service calls-the first time to change out the digital cable box and the 2nd time to check the cable feed line. Both technicians told me that the problem is with the TV because there's nothing wrong with the cable on their end. Both have also told me that unless the blinking really bothered me, it was best to leave it alone until the problem worsens to the point where we need to get a new TV. We have had digital cable for over 4 years with no problems on this TV until this year, and the only change we've made to it's present hookup is the addition of a surge protector for the electrical cords last year. The cable technician also checked the surge protector and said that it wasn't causing the problem. Can you offer any feedback as to what is causing the intermittent blinking? BTW-this model is a console TV.
No you didnt answer the most important questions> When the tv"blinks" does the sound go on and off with the picture? Or does the picture go out to a black screen or a grey screen? or does the whole set seem like its shutting off and on again? or does ir seem like the tvs trying to tune in a channel but keeps going past the right frquency? Answer these questions and we can get somewhere.
