I have seen alot of problem/posts concerning HP AIO's and software issues. Typically some of the functions won't work or not recognized by solution center. Try a complete uninstall of all associated printer software, run registry cleaner if you have it, restart, then try completely uninstalling your Antivirus/firewall software. I have seen that just disabling Antivirus/firewall still causes faulty installations. Now, reinstall your printer software/drivers and connect cables only when told to do so. Some reason the AV/FW software blocks some of the AIO's apps from completely installing.
Well you wont find this info anywhere...HP doesnt give it out to anyone but authorized repair centers...
I dont think you know what that board costs....it may be cheaper to get a new printer...you probably cant get the board with out having a repair center do it anyway
you your exact printer and download the full software drivers, then install it.
2. your printer can have a hardware failure thats why the printer cant scan anymore. or your windows has some virus or some files have disappeared.
3. try solution1
4. I recommend HP printers in front of all other,if you buy a more costly printer you get a better one. thats the "rule". I think the hp is the best product of all in one printers you can get for your money. if you want a officejet the HP OFFICEJET L7680 ALL-IN-ONE good choice. I think I got all your questions? good luck
1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.
2.You will get Device manager window popping out.
3.Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.
4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:WE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for what location says, Eg -LOCATION : HP Office jet 7400)
5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.
6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get pop up "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.
Nothing to worry about. Go to HP.com and from there select Software and Driver Downloads. Download the Full feature software and driver for windows Vista. Run the Installation.
If the softwares are installed it will ask you to "Add a device". Add a device and select network option. The device will be installed. Now there is a patch on HP.com for unexpected uninstallation. Download it and install it on the computer. It will resolved the issue.
You may try this solution if the printer can make copies,it has resolved many driver related issues.
1.Right click on mycomputer, ->properties ->hardware ->Device manager - >Scrol down to "Universal serial bus controllers", click on + sign.
2.look for USB composite Device and uninstall it by right clicking. We have to make sure the USB composite Device is for your Printer. To check that, Right click on USB composite Device and then properties, there look in location it should say "HP officejet 7400".
I have to agree wholehearted with the first post here. I too have been totally frustrated by HP's flat denial of a problem here, despite reporting extremely detailed error information, including memory crash dumps. This is a widespread problem, yet everyone's efforts to get the issue escalated past the level one "support" have proved completely fruitless.
I've been a long time supporter, but I am now totally disillusioned with HP, and vow never to buy one of their products again.
