Question about Kenmore 19233 Computerized Sewing Machine

E1 Error What is an E1 Error and how do I fix it? I have restarted and rethreaded the machine after getting this message and nothing will make it "reset". I was sewing and got the "stop for safety purposes" message and then subsequently the e! message after stopping. Now my machine will not do anything. I have been sewing for 22 years and have never encountered something I can't fix. Help!

Re: E1 Error

If your sewing machine show's the E1 Error, then you have to open your sewing machine and replace the fuse.(you have to open the right Cover on Front where the Display is placed, because there is the circuit board placed!) There are 3 Fuses in the Sewing machine and they are placed at the printed circuit board. It should be the Fuse in the middle. (not those with the wire in it!) It's not easy at all to open the machine, the best thing you can do (if you have a Digicam) take some Pictures of the wiring so it will be much easier to put it back together. I'm NOT an Expert; but a passionate hobbyist. ;) If you are too; just save yourself further trouble with the helpdesk, and fix it yourself. I hope this post could help you!

Re: E1 Error

After spending many hours on the phone with Sears, someone finally gave the manufacturer's phone number (1-877-739-4648)! Their help desk told me that an E1 error usually means that a fuse needs to be replaced. The fuse is covered under the 2 year electrical warranty. They said I should take the machine to a Sears Service Center to get it repaired. Go luck. I am completely frustrated with the Sears website and the salespeople who want to help, but can't because they haven't been trained on the machines!

Hi i keep getting the E1 error message flash up on the sewing machine, it still sews but it keeps stopping and the E1 error message comes up, what exactly is wrong with it? can you he;lp? Thanks

E1 means that your machine thinks the thread has broken.

There's nothing you can do to fix this: it has to go to an authorised Singer Service Centre for diagnosis and repair. Usually it's a faulty thread sensor.

I am getting warning message, check if upper or lower thread is cut. I have rethreaded themachine, changed bobbins, changed needle, but it still is not picking up the bobbin thread and am getting same...

Is your needle in right, flat side facing away from you? There may be some thread stuck in the machine, or bobbin area, use a brush to clean it all, then rethread. Call their customer service listed in your manual

Janome 6600p: E1 error

Direct from the Janome workbook E3 error relates to:
"Stepping motor for tension release (MC6500P & MC6600P only)"
Ensure there is no lint or thread trapped between the discs of the top tension unit.........try "flossing" where thread goes down thru tension unit with a scrap of clean fabric.
It may also be the mechanism that releases tension when the presser foot is is a sensor and may be out of alignment...not really an easy home fix.
Let me know how you get on, just remind me of the issue as I respond to many.
