Contents in PC Suite

I am having trouble opening my contents folder in pc suite. My phone is in data service mode on the USB connectivity. I leave it at the idle screen and under the multitask manager can see only menu and homescreen.

When i click on contents in pc suite nothing happpens at all. No messages to say it can't do it, it just does nothing.

Please can someone help?

I have exactly the same prob, searched everywhere for a solution. Don't know what to do. Wouldn't have got the phone if I knew the software wasn't compatible with Vista.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi same problem here. The "content" menu wouldn' t work, though i' ve uninstalled / reinstalled LG PC Suite many times. Why do they sell a software that doesn't even work correctly, and just let custo

The main LG PC suite screen is flawed and doesnt work for anyone, right click the sys tray icon next to the OS clock and access contents through that method, its the only way to get into it. Otherwise, go to the phone settings>connectivity and change usb mass data transfer to on to use it as a normal removable media device. Data transferred via the USB mass storage will transfer a lot quicker than using the PC suite too.

Can't view LG KU990's files on my computer

Nah!! i dissagree that solution is way to compicated when you can simply just plug in your USB cord and open the USB driver corresponding to the phone. You do have to have the phone set to Mass storage to do it. {Plug it in and open my computer, the icon will appear by itself, then you'll be able to view and add files and everything else.} No need for any software really.

Transferring data

its easy, just follow:
1. if you don't use memory card, skip the previous step and just install the LG PC SUiTE in the CD that comes with the Viewty, then connect your phone with the computer and in the LG PC SUiTE choose CONTENTS and there you find everything in your phone, just copy & past anything, this also works if you have memory card, but if you have memory card, the below method is faster and easier dealing with data:
2. if you are using memory card, copy all the things from your folders (images, sounds, videos...etc. ) from your phone to memory card.. then on your viewty, go to menu --> settings (fourth) tab --> phone settings --> connectivity --> USB connection mode --> then choose (Mass Storage) and then connect your phone with the computer and, here you go, you're all set and you find your memory card on pc :-)

LG PC Suite

Im going to tell you the safest, fastest, and Easiest way to do it, but it may require you to change settings manually on your device first. Make sure you have a Memory card,
Choose settings for USB connections on your phone.
1.Find "USB connection mo..."
  • Press the menu icon.
  • Press the fourth tab.
  • Press Phone settings.
  • Press Connectivity.
  • Press USB connection mo....
  • 2.Select setting

  • Press Mass storage
  • Press OK.
  • 3.Exit

Once you've done this and have your memory in your device, Open the MY COMPUTER folder in your computer and connect your device to your computer using the USB cord, a new Icon will appear containing the folders from your device's memory card, that way you will easily be able to transfer files back and forth without the NEED of any sofware Cd's Or the LG PC Suit.

And Welcome to the Viewty Family! Enjoy...!

Cannot connect LG U990 phone to the computer

    hi,
unlike nokia phones, Lg's a bit comlicated when it comes to PC suite operations, anyway it doesnt give options for the connections, as a external memory or USB mode. we can find it only by going through PC suite.
For copying, open the contents in PC suite and alternativley select all the files u want to copy and jus drag them directly to contents folders. even i faced the same problem when i tried to copy, paste the items, but dragging is working.

First connect the phone using the USB cable provided.
Open the LG PC Suite software. On the left hand side is a connection wizard select this and then USB.
Don't change any of the port information.
Once it has connected, select contents.
go to your picture folder and then just drag your pictures onto it.
    DONE!

    Download music

    Hey Abi54,

I had a bit of trouble with this myself.

Firstly, you'll need to download LG PC Suite, which should have come on a disk in the phone's box.

Now there are two ways of doing this...

    Using MusicManager:
Works only for MP3 files, should collect album, artist info etc.

    1. Open LG PC Suite
    2. Connect phone to PC using USB cable.
    3. In LG PC Suite: click "Connection Wizard"
    4. Click USB, then click next. The computer will now search for your device.
    5. When it finds it click next, then finish.
    6. Now back to LG PC Suite, under the heading "MEDIA" click MusicManager. Make sure your have nothing open or running on your phone and that it is in the home screen.
    7. In MusicManager click on "File" in the top left hand corner.
    8. Then click "Add file to Main Library"
    9. Browse through your files and select the MP3 you want. Then click "Open." The file will now have been added to your library.
    10. Now drag the file you have added to "Internal" or "External" memory, depending if you want the file saved to your handest or MicroSD card (if you have one).
    11. A message wil then ask "Are you sure you want add the selected file to the handset?" Click "OK".
    12. A loading bar will appear, and once the file has finished downloading you can disconnect your phone.
    Using Contents Manager:
For all types of files, will not give artist, album info etc.

    1. Connect your phone to PC using "Connection Wizard" in LG PC Suite (see above steps).
    2. In LG PC Suite under tools click "Contents Manager" Make sure your have nothing open or running on your phone and that it is in the home screen.
    3. You wil now be able to see your files including those on your computer and your phone.
    4. Find the file you wish to put on your phone. Right click it and copy it.
    5. Find the folder within your phone, either "Sounds" or "Card" (MicroSD card) and right click and paste the file.
    6. A loading bar will appear, and once the file has finished downloading you can disconnect your phone.
Hopefully this will help you! Please reply to let me know if this was helpful or not, and I can then help you further!

    Happy MP3ing!

    From Kat
