SOURCE: i dont kno how to get my videos on my computer with a sony ccd-trv108 handycam
Sony CCD-TRV108 is analog camcorder and you can't connect it directly with computer because computer requires digital format audio-video signal files to store and further process.
If you have DVD Recorder, hook up camera with it and burn movie on dvd disc. Now you have digital data / files for computer.
Need further info, let me know please.
SOURCE: video transfer from sony handycam ccd-trv 308 hi8 to a computer
The S-video on your computer is for output video (to connect to monitor or TV). Samething for your Cam. You need to have a device video input (USB or PCMCIA) to connect to your computer, and a software (driver that comes with the device) to CAPTURE the video from your Cam.
So you need a hardware and sofware for this. Price now is ~ US$ 40 to > US$100 depending on the brand and quality.
SOURCE: How do I hook up a Sony Handycam Video 8 CCD-TRV41 NTSC to view on television?
The connector for video/audio is located under a cover next to the red Start/Stop button on top, near the lens. If you don't have the right cable, they are available at Best Buy for example. There are analog outputs only, if you want to capture on a computer you'll have to get a video capture device for the computer. I use Pinnacle. -Stan
