Remote control not working

Remote control has been flicky, and it stopped working. I suspected bad battery, but it turned out that's not the case (I put in new ones and clicked some buttons in a dark room, but saw no flashing).

Thanks for the info. The unit itself works fine (using the buttons on the unit). I searched the web again and found that the manufacturer filed bankruptcy sometime ago. I guess that's the end of the story. I probably need to buy a universal remote control to access the full functionality.

    Thanks again.

Hi-

Try cleaning the leads that attaches the negative and positive side of the battery, is the product within warranty still? Please try pressing the panels button as well just to verify if its only the remote that you are having issue with. If your product is witihin the one year warranty, you can call the manufacturer for an accessory replacement.

Hope this helps

I have A COBY765 THE REMOTE STOP WORKING

Remote Controls don't go bad that easily. Liquid spills
or moisture under the rubber membranes will prevent
contacts being made whenever you push a button.
1. Try replacing new fresh batteries first.
2. Disassemble the Remote and clean both the board (PCB)
and the rubber membranes with a soft water/soap solution
3. Dry them and Re-assemble the unit

Panasonic DMR-EX88 recorder was working fine but remote has stopped working so cant get to the hard drive (can still play a disk by pressing play on the unit). Remote started working intermittently, now...

Either the remote itself is exhibiting strange behaviour, or the unit's IRD controller circuit (and/or the IRD itself) is faulty. Perhaps when you changed the batteries, the remote needs to be 're-commanded' (that means entering a remote code by pressing and holding 2 buttons together for 10 seconds - example - 1 + ENTER/OK) - this should be done whenever the batteries are replaced. If this does not restore the remote to full control, then the IRD (and/or its controller circuit) is the most likely suspect; or, worst case scenario; your remote is defective. I hope it isn't the latter.

I suggest you submit the unit to an authorised service centre for a quote (since this is not a disc drive replacement/alignment it shouldn't be too expensive) then you can decide for yourself afterwards as to what further action to take. Up to you, it is not unfixable. You can always ask Panasonic directly for straight answers and get a second opinion at the same time.

I hope you do not need a new remote at this stage.

Remote control has stopped working

If you have replaced the batteries with KNOWN GOOD ones, observed the proper polarity when re-installing the batteries AND made sure the remote is in DVD "mode" (if it is a multi-remote) when trying to use it, the remote is bad. Replace the remote.

Non-working converter box.

Ok, sounds like you changed the batteries so asuming the repacements are good and the fact the remote stopped working all devices including the one it does not need programed for; I suspect the remote is the problem. I would check into getting a new remote.

Remote stop working

hi does the controll have a button that says tv or vcr if so press the vcr button and try that if that dont solve the problem then make sure batterys are in right way and check the terminals are free from corrosion if this still dont work then the best thing to do is take the case off the remote and usually the problem is a build up of dust or grease on the board or on the back off buttons clean the board with dry cloth and clean the back of buttons remove any dust or grease from the board and buttons then put back together if this still dont work then you probably need new remote.
It will cost more than the remote to get repaired you can buy an all in one remote that will operate this for you let meknow how you get on ok

Remote control will not work?

Hi Quad, recently I also got same recorder and faced the same problem with the remote controller. today i tried to solve this. i opened it up. it turned out the battery connections are not proper. The battery connection are in the form of a spring coil which touches the outerside of the battery which is not touching properly. I bent and slight lift it with a plier and it started working. The other connection is touching front side of the battery(on backside you see label cr2025 printed) and this is alright. I hope it works for you too. with best regards
