Help please

last time i used my vivicam 5340 digital camera it worked fine. i have been trying to turn it on for the last couple of days and wierd stuff has been happening.the welcome screen comes on when i press the power button.I see the battery symbol comes on and then it goes off.i have been trying it now for a while and the same thing happens each time. i recharged the batery and tried again to put it on. that didn't work. I placed it on external power, that didn't work either(i took out the battery).When i tried to access the pictures from the camera by connecting the docking station to my laptop, i was able to view the pictures.i turned it on sometime ago and the lcd screen was slightly illuminated after the camera went off. i had to remove the battery to make the screen go off.
