Question about Olympus WS-100 Digital Voice Recorder
I have erased all the files and it still tells me 40 min remain when i want to record. i have not been able to record some key speeches. what should i do?
Hold down the 'Menu/Folder' button until it flashes "menu". Then press fast-forward until you get to "FORMAT". Press play, then it will say 'no'. Press FF to get to 'yes' and press play again. You'll have to do that twice, because it will ask you if you are sure.
It worked for me...

Sounds as if you need to format the memory of the device. If you go to the menu and to the format option this will clear all data from the device and bring it back to factory defaulted settings and ready to record again.
