The VCR records sometimes with no voice, or in a foreign language,or for the visually impaired,or the actors will say their lines twice,or their mouths are out of sync with what their saying and the DVD won't play DVD's or CD's at all. Help!

    Thank you

We have the Sansui VRDVD4005 DVD-RW and it will not play movies at all anymore. Error "Cannot Read" Please help - we got this as a gift last Christmas. Thank you.

my bad , yes it should record, but the reason for error may be the laser eye is to dirty and may need to be manually cleaned , if not the laser may need adjusting or replaced

again sorry about the first clarification , I'm getting tired , need to stop , but let me know if cleaning does the trick.

its because it's not a dvd recorder , only a dvd player and tape recorder and it can only read certain formated disk's

Sansui VRDVD4005 will record DVDs provided they are DVD-R NOT DVD+R. I have one of these for 3 going on 4 years and I took it apart and cleaned the dust off the magnetic hub and that worked for awhile but (2-3 months) now I'm having trouble finalizing again. Someone on this site said it needs 8x NOT 16x disks ... 'cause it's an older unit ... I'm checking it out in the users manuel.

Turn off the unit. press and hold the "3" button on the remote until you see "rf 3" in the display on the VRDVD4005. This will change the output channel to 3.

Will not read DVD's

Likely the alignment or laser.

The Sansui is a $50 DVD, in my opinion, you would be best served to replace the unit with a similarly priced unit.
