How do I reset as some keys wont play

The reset procedure is to hold down the very top key while turning the keyboard on.

Once it clicks and starts up ( about 15 seconds) you have carried out a factory reset.

This may sould dumb, but did you check the Headphone jack? If the 1/4" adapter for 1/8" may be left in the port, like on my keyboard. I took it out and sound came on. Lame, I know, but . . . .

I put my battery inside my key board but it wont work and i dont have the wire for it but do u need the wire to make it work

Hello,

The battery needs to be charged before it will work in your keyboard. Maybe, the battery is out of charge that's why your keyboard is not working.

You need the wire to turn on the keyboard and at the same time to charge the battery. If the battery is already full, you can remove the wire and the keyboard will still work until the power in the battery is drained out.

I hope this helps.

Hi My yamaha PSR S500 keyboard is not turning on! I bought a new adaptor but it still wont come on

Check that your adapter is a 12VDC with a current rating of at least 1 amp (1000ma) AND that the center pin of the connector is the POSITIVE.

Lcd only showing half on yamaha 600 keyboard

i assume you mean that, only half of your LCD is functional.
if this is the case, it culd be one or more of many things.

the most likely, is that the screen is cracked. this may be an "internal fracture" and will not be visible (you wont see cracks).

another, however, more unlikely reason is that the ribbon cable is partly detached. if this is so, you could get inside the keyboard your self (which WILL void your warranty).
this is rather difficult, and there is a high risk of damaging other aspects of the keyboard in the proses.

if it is still under warrenty, call up yamaha tech support and see if they are able to do anything for you.
if you are no longer under warranty, or would rather pay: find a local music (or electronics) store, and have them look at it.

Displays code Scn

Either the keyboard is disconnected or the Keyscan on the keyboard itself is but. More than likely a loose connector.

Yamaha 9000pro froze and after restarting doesnt do anything anymore the only thing that happens when i swiths it on is that the display lights up , but it wont start up completely. could it be a harddrive...

First thing is to Isolate the keyboard and then take out the Hard Drive and restart the keyboard. If that doesn't work then that's the first problem eliminated. You can do a Factory Reset on the keyboard. I'm not too sure on this keyboard but mostly it's Turn on the keyboard and simultaniously hold a certain button(s) or Key(s) [normally at the top end]. This info will be in the Manual. You could look at the troubleshooting page in the Manual also. Other than that at this time I can't help any further.......Good luck!
