Question about Canon PIXMA MX700 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Error Code UO43

I have had my printer for several months and it has been working flawlessly until today when it displayed the following message: Error Code UO43: The following ink tank cannot be recognised" and it highlights all four ink tanks. I had replaced the black ink tank several weeks ago, but the other ink tanks are still fine, so other than that there should be no reason why it would stop working now. Please help!!!

Yes I have taken out each cartridge and pulled the power plug out, without any success. Is there anything else that I can do?

  • jason May 11, 2010

The wire strip that connects to the printing cartrige is probably brole or just comming out of its plug
try to push the wire strip back in and see if that does any good , if not then there is a problem inside of the printer
the wire strip is broke or comming unpugged or the detection circut that sees the cartriges has failed and needs repair
hope that helps!

In most cases when the HP02 cartridge is not recognized, or has poor connectivity, you will normally receive an "Unrecognized Cartridge" or "Cartridge Problem" error message with a big RED X; in most cases (like 99.3%) the smart chip needs to be replaced with a new one - please note the chip life has 25 month expiration window from the time the HP02 (or 363 in the UK) cartridge is initially installed into the printer. If you observe an INK SYSTEM FAILURE message or 'Oxc' error message then the permanent PRINTHEAD may be electrically damaged (unfortunately it is not replaceable; you can verify this by performing the following):

To bypass INK SYSTEM FAILURE message please see the HP Printer Diagnostics Tests file (pdf) for instructions: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1813

Xerox system error

If you are using a Xerox printer, you might have faced a system error problem, similar to "System error 09.038.46:113334" or something within that line.

I faced a similar error message like this a few months ago and i solved it using the following steps.

The ink count sensor flags were stuck.
Verify that the ink is correct and genuine and then reset the system and error message by performing the following steps:

1- Turn on the printer
2- Wait for the xerox logo to begin moving across the display
3- Before the logo is centered on the display (stops moving) press and hold the "back" and "help" buttons on the control panel.
4- Hold both buttons until the display reads "beginning service mode initialization".Release the buttons and the printer reboots into service mode with the "Service Diagnostics" menu displayed
5- Then scroll until you find function menu then click "OK"
6- Scroll until you find "Clear ISC" fault and press "OK"
7- Click back several times and then reboot the machine.

If you follow these exact steps your problem should be solved.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.

Had ink refilled at costco and now printer has an air message that says incompatable ink cartridge

The 'incompatible cartridge' error message is not a common error message associated with the Photosmart C5180 printer model - in most cases when the HP02 cartridge is not recognized, or has poor connectivity, you will normally receive an "Unrecognized Cartridge" or "Cartridge Problem" error message with a big RED X; in most cases (like 99.3%) the smart chip needs to be replaced with a new one - please note the chip life has 25 month expiration window from the time the cartridge is initially installed into the printer. My 1 month old HP printer that has been working flawlessly until just now and it is coming up with the message of "cartridge error" which is so frustrating because my last HP printer that was working...

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

ERROR UO43

I've had to replace the printhead after multiple times just tryng to soak and clean it with no luck, per instructions on the net. Excellent rated #1 printer and I have two of them, but parts wear out. Type in QY6-0061 for a search and you'll find them from $15 used to $115 new, but $50 is average. Once replaced, mine are off and running again. Hope it works for you too.
