What you look for in a compression test is how similar the cylinders are. 130 and 140 are close enough to be "fine". If you want to check further, squirt a little oil in each cylinder, and check again. If the pressure comes up a lot, you may have bad rings on both. If not, both are likely fine.
Car is 12 years old, average mileage for that is well over 100K, so expect compression somewhere between 150-200 psi. Important that readings are still close together for balance, but you have some leeway there: Most manufacturers say lowest compression should be within 80 % of highest reading. Any cylinder with low compression (below 140 or 150) should have a leak-down test to pinpoint where compression is lost.
it indicates a sticking valve or lifter. you will have to do a leak down test to rule out the piston rings for that cylinder. most engines should have 140 to 160 cranking compression. a low compression on one cylinder indicates a bad exhaust valve. have a good day !!
On any engine, you need at least 100 psi... What you want is an even amount on all four. Remember to hold the throttle plate open while cranking it for the compression test. 140 to 170 is excellent.
The compressions you mentioned...Good?
No. Not at all.
Those compression reading indicate either really bad/worn piston rings, or valves that are not sealing properly, or both.
Normal compression readings should be at or above 140 PSI, +/5 5 PSI difference, no more.Save your money, and look for another unit. This engine is going to cost you a lot of money to make it right.
I dont understand,
what were the compressions readings for each cylinder?
Please list and when you find a low cylinder put about a spoon full of engine oil in the spark plug hole and re do the compression test and send me that result also please.
