Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

Sound, but no picture

I was messing around with the setup options one day and selected the wrong TV type and now I have a blank screen and I can't figure out how to reset it. I followed the instructions in the manual to reset to factory settings (turn off, turn on, open tray and press stop button on player for 5 seconds) and it doesn't work... has anyone else done this? How can I fix it?

There is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.

If you have a progressive scan button on the remote, it might change it back. Try all the video related buttons on the remote with the DVD player on.

Silly me...I was messing around with the menu options for my RCA TV and I clicked on the audio only option. Now I am unable to change anything on my TV. All I get is a blank screen as if the TV is turned...

Do a reset to this TV; and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Hello Alexis, in the bottom left hand corner is a cog icon that will take you to the settings menu. From here select system and you should see display mode at the top. Change this option to full screen.
If this does not fix the problem select the option to use a windowed full screen option just below.
Hope this works for you.

Manual setup mode

It sounds that some firmware error has occured. You have to enter the 'service mode' setting window to see, whether there has some errors. Service mode window is entirely different to that of user adjustment window. You must have sound knowledge in electronics to enter and adjust the data values there in service mode. Entering service mode option might be very easy, but to understand the options, and data value details are very important, because, if wrong data values has been set to this window, the set might turn irreparable. In my opinion, it will be best for you to contact any experienced service technician in this matter.
If you visit this site named 'Electro-help', you can get details about how to enter the service mode option to Sanyo TVs. To get this site, check this link. But, never try to do any adjustments, if you are not sound to do this work.

If the model number posted here is correct (vs-70707) this is a VZ8 Chassis made around 2000 and should NOT have a reset button on the front.

Please confirm actual model number.

Note: almost all Mitsubishi sets have a hidden menu (two or more) and one allows with the Mitsubishi remote to enter for example the OPTION menu and there you will be able to do a HARD RESET on the set which sets ALL settings back to default.

It sounds like a resolution problem. Make sure your XBOX is reset to default settings. Use your other TV for this.
As the console starts, press and hold Y while holding the right trigger. This will reset the video settings to default, and restart your XBOX. Connect it to you HDTV and adjust the settings according to your TV type, and the MAX resolution. (I.E. if you only have a 720p TV, then you cannot select 1080p; you will get a blank screen.)
The steps are as follows:On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.Select Console Settings.
Select Display.
Select HDTV Settings.
Select the resolution that is supported for your HDTV.
Select Yes to confirm the change.

Note If your HDTV does not support the selected option, the screen goes blank. If the screen does not reappear within 10 seconds, the console switches back to the original setting.

In 480p resolution, you highlight the 16.9 aspect ratio from the TV Aspect menu option in Setup and then type 1397139 on the remote. This brings up the service screen with all options and machine information.
Optimal (best) settings are as follows.
1 : f 2 2 : 35 (this is DivX)
3 : 93 (macrovision?) 4 : f f (Vcd/Svcd)
5 : f f (region free) 6 : c0 (c0 = LG logo)(ce = Insignia)
7 : 04 8 : 15
All I can say is Keep these and and dont mess around or you can kill it....

The language is in Arabic writing.

I just went through this agony for 3 days and found this on another blog for reseting the TV. It totally worked and got me to the language set up. Go to the front panel of the panel. Manually turn the TV OFF. Via the Front Panel push the INPUT (Function) Button in & Hold. Now use the power button on the front of the TV & turn ON the TV. I then used the remote to arrow up to English.
